That is a tough question. I love both hotels but if the extra $1000 didn't matter I'd pick GCH for the lobby, the pools, and the closeness. I like the DLH for the theming and restaurants but would still pick GCH. When we stayed there we liked going on GRR then heading right to the pool to swim.

I keep meaning to try GCH but as just have fallen in love with DLH. We do the Grand Floridian over at WDW and get our fill of beautiful and better location there. At DLR, we had love the charm of DLH and so haven’t made the move over to GCH. The incremental distance isn’t a big deal for us- it’s still close.

We did this, but the other way. While we were at the pool, I used Maxpass to get a GRR fastpass for an hour later. When we were done at the pool, we dried off and walked right into DCA, rode GRR in our swimsuits (we had rash guards on as well) and went back to our room to shower and freshen up. It was awesome!

We stayed at the DLH last year and thought it was very nice. I'd love to stay at the GCH, but for 7 nights, it's an additional $1,000. I liked all the Disney touches at DLH, but would like to stay even closer to the parks. Which do you prefer?

We love staying at the Grand the best. The hubby and kids love riding Grizzly Rapids over and over until they are completely soaked, then head back to the room (very close with the entrance of the hotel by Grizzly Rapids exit). I like DLH, but the walk after a fun day in the park is hard on my hip, since it is a crap shoot as to when the monorail will run. How about a split stay? start at the DLH and end at the Grand?
I enjoy the MM/EE daily and sending items purchased to the hotel. Beats getting a locker or lugging around a bag.
