Greetings all,

We travel to Disneyland every year and stay at the Candy Cane Inn.

This year, due to the Armed Forces deal, we have the opportunity of an affordable (to us) stay at DLH.

The price difference will be right around $300 for a five night stay.

What are the benefits of one over the other?

Thanks for your input! :)

Sorry, forgot

Travel party includes

two seniors

three middle aged parents

one 14 year old

two 8 year olds

Thanks!

One huge benefit is that you can go to Magic Morning/Early Entry every day that it is offered during your stay as a Disneyland Resort Hotel guest. Normally if you stay off property, you get one MM/EE per pass hopper ticket.
For 2009, Magic Morning is offered on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday...plan your trip accordingly...

Well, for that little of a difference I would go with the DLH for a few reasons.

If you have kids they will love the Peter Pan themed pool area with slide. The theming in the rooms is fun and walking through DTD and having the monorail so close is a real convenience. The biggest pull for me would be the opportunity to attend MM on each day it is offered, which is an unadvertised perk for all DLR hotel guests.

One thing to keep in mind is the continental breakfast that is offered at the Candy Cane Inn. It is wonderful -- toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, etc.

With 3 kids, we found this continental breakfast saved us alot of money. We would all have a good breakfast at the hotel before heading to the parks, maybe purchase a few snacks at the park during the day and then plan on a nice sit down meal for dinner.

However at the DLH, we were buying 2 or 3 full meals a day compared to 1 at the Candy Cane Inn. With 3 teenagers we saved alot of money!
