anyone have an email for Disneyland Hotel lost & found? I called looking for an item I left in the room yesterday and no luck. So I thouhgt maybe I would try and email in a day or two. I hate to keep bothering them but I left my favorite pj bottoms on the back of the bathroom door.

That is weird that they couldn't find your PJ bottoms when you knew specifically where you left them hanging. Housekeeping must have taken them and put them somewhere. Many, many years ago - like maybe 20 years ago - I, too, left a pajama item (except in my case, it was the top, not the bottoms) in our DLH room and I realized it after I got home. I couldn't even remember where it was, but I thought it was wrapped up in the sheets of the bed. I thought it was lost forever, but they found the top, laundered it and neatly folded it up and mailed it back to me in a padded envelope! I know that sinking feeling when you KNOW you have left something behind that you love, and I was delighted to get my lost item back. So I can't believe that you were so specific about where you left your PJ bottoms and they still couldn't find them? Odd. It is possible that your bottoms are making their way through the laundering process and will show up tomorrow or so. They should have gotten your number to call you back if they appear.

Anyway, I do not have a L&F email off hand. I am sure, if there is one, someone will have it, but I wouldn't be afraid to call back several times. I seem to remember being told by a CM that sometimes things take a few days to show up in L&F, though it is not common to take that long.

It's possible you won't hear from the hotel, but if they find it they'll just mail it back to you. I left several rolls of film in a bureau drawer one time. I called to report it and about a week later they showed up in the mail!

I am hoping they find their way home. The guy I spoke to tonight wasn't too helpful. So I will try back again tomorrow morning and see if they can take down my info just incase.

They have to turn up somewhere. Since you knew exactly where you had left them and could describe to the hotel staff what the bottoms looked like and what room you were in, there is no excuse for them not having them. If they could find the PJ top I left in the bedsheets years ago - which pretty much matched the color of the sheet - they should be able to find your bottoms. It is not like you stayed at DLH 6 weeks ago. You were just there, right? My guess is they ended up in the laundry and are making their way to the Lost and Found bin. Last year, I THOUGHT I had left something in the GCH room we had and I frantically called the GCH and talked to Lost and Found, asking for this thing I thought I left in the nightstand (a gift card). They never found it. Well, it's no wonder they never found it because I had the lost gift card with me - I had packed it in a deep, dark corner of a deep pocket in my suitcase. But they certainly kept checking because I kept pushing them to (of course, I felt like an idiot when I realized I had the item all along:rolleyes1 ).

It sounds to me like DLH isn't checking hard enough. The PJ bottoms did not just get up and walk away. And guests must leave things behind all the time. So even if they have to sort through a large bin of lost clothing items, they need to at least try to look!

It seems like someone just takes these things. I knew exactly what I left in our room, the exact location, date of check out, and they have never found the water-proof sheet I put on my son's bed to protect their matress in case he had an accident. I called, left a message with lost & found, and housekeeping when we got home and I realized I had forgotten it. I also went back to the hotel and stood at the registration counter while they checked on it a few days later. Nope - no sign of it. Someone decided they needed one at their house! It has been a month and I have called weekly. No - someone really stole it!

Did you leave a tip in the room on your last day? If not housekeeping probably just threw it away! Easier than taking it down to Lost & Found and filling out paperwork!

yes, tip left. I am sure they found that....hee hee

I am trying to remember exactly what the GCH told me last year when I stupidly thought I had left my gift card in a drawer and made them comb the Lost and Found area, go up to the room in which I stayed and knock on the door to ask the new guests if they could check the drawer and all kinds of other drastic measures (before discovering I had the lost item all along)!!! I know they said that sometimes it takes a couple of days for anything to show up as an official Lost item. I think they also said that there was literally a 'bin' of some kind where things get tossed (although I could be confusing that info with what I was told when I lost an earring IN Disneyland, which was never recovered) and sometimes they will let people look through the bin to see if they can find the lost piece, or stand there while a CM looks through it to be sure nothing is overlooked. DLR is so organized and professional in almost every other area. I can't believe they have not fine-tuned their Lost and Found process, because guests must lose items or forget them ALL the time. I never imagined that they would have thieves on their staff who steal waterproof bedsheets, etc., because I had such good luck with getting my PJ Blouse/Top returned to me many years ago.

Well, keep checking, Toribelle. Leave them your contact info, but keep calling them periodically anyway, and don't be afraid to ask these questions directly (I know I would demand answers) - "Well, since I gave you my room number and the date I stayed there, and told you exactly what the pants looked like and where they were left in the room, why IS it that no one can find them? Someone obviously got hold of them. There are not many places they could have gone, and I called you right away, as soon as I noticed they were missing. So, explain to me, step by step, what happens as soon as Housekeeping finds a lost item in a room, and what the procedure is from that point."

Make them tell you what the protocol is, and how your PJ bottoms could have disappeared. I could see if you didn't call to claim something for a month or more, but you were right on top of it, so if I were the one calling them, they had better come up with some answers! Let us know what happens! Good luck! It is a terrible feeling knowing you lost something you really liked!
