I am scheduled into the Disneyland Hotel, using points for a stay in February. I was just wondering whether or not the point reduction is filling up the hotel. Has anyone been unable to get a reservation? Any other info?

We switched into Disneyland Hotel with no problems last week....we did have Paradise Pier booked, 4 more points got us DLH. We are going Presidents week, so I am assuming this is a busy time.

I basically banked all of my 2005 points (my first year as a DVC member). As a result, I have more 2006 points than I can handle (though I will find a use for all of them). Because I had so many points to use and because I love mission architecture, I splurged and booked two nights at the Grand Californian in December. (Because I banked 100% of 2005, I'm borrowing from 2006 to pay for that stay). I'm excited because I'll finally be able to see the holiday overlays on Haunted Mansion and - if they still do it - Small World.

I called MS last week to make a reservation for the Disneyland hotel for Presidents' day weekend in February and there was a lot of space. When I called earlier the cast member said people don't call way ahead (except for special events maybe?)for DL like they do for WDW. I was waiting 'till I could use points from the VWL add-on I am buying so I could save my BWV points for a reservation in a 2 bedroom standard view room over the summer.

You'll absoluetly love it! We stayed there for the first time in May and it is the most beautiful and convenient DL hotel IMHO. ;)

I last visited DLR shortly after DCA opened. That was a budget trip, so I stayed at a Super 8 motel nearby (which was perfectly fine for the price). However, I visited Grand Californian and ate lunch at the Storytellers Cafe. I loved that place so much. (I couldn't say the same for DCA itself, though some stuff ahs been added since then.)

I have used points for 3 nights at Grand Californian because I really like the arts and crafts architecture and furniture. It is wonderful!
