Does anyone know when race photos will be available for viewing and which photography company was responsible for the photos?

Thanks in advance,
Pam

ASI usually doesn't post them for a couple weeks. So, start saving up...because they get expensive!! You will get an e-mail when they are posted.

Actually, the ones from the Half are already up at Brightroom. The 5K pictures don't seem to be up yet though...

Cripey, if you check this thread. I found your medal photo (post race) in lost and found in the 1999-(something) page of the 145K photos. I recognized your costume and checked your bib number against the thread on here.

I just went through my photos on their website. Brightroom e-mailed me with a link. I couldn't find myself in half of them. I also don't know why I wore that hat.

There might be video, but I might have a poor Internet connection at the hotel and it's not loading.

Thanks for posting the photo link.

I'm not actually in half of my photos, but there is a nice sequence of me getting hit in the face at the finish :rotfl: (some lady stopped and threw her arms at the finish as I was coming up behind her)

Is brightroom the same as ASI? Did they get rid of ASI? I am not impressed by the photos at all...granted I may just need to go through the lost and found section...and just like the other post that section is huge which is really surprising! You really couldn't cover up your bib. :confused3

Different location, different photographers. My medal photo is in the lost & found as well. They time tagged me running through the castle (the photo shows my elbow) but they couldn't pull the one with my bib number? Lame.:sad2:

A lot of the photos I found in my section were screen caps from the videos they had which sucks since they could have taken the time to shoot some photos as well. Plus, the video for the finishline is sooooo far away I might as well be an ant. I haven't made if far into the Lost and Found but most of what's there you can clearly see the bib numbers.

I agree. I wonder if they just wanted to release the photos as quickly as possible? I wonder if they will run some sort of recognition software to 'see' the numbers and correlate them with the correct runners.

To me, my bib number is clearly visible:

Yep, that's a prime example of what I saw. Plus, half my photos are duplicates. Not similar, but exactly the same, the file numbers are identical.

I think it is an example of releasing things too soon. I just went through a few of the pages in the lost and found and you could clearly see the bib's in nearly all of them. :confused3 It appears that the ones forwarded to us were attached to our B-Chips...because I am not in most of the pictures and a lot of them look overexposed. Not cool...I always hated the wait with ASI and I am pretty sure that ASI was the photographer in L.A. last year, but at least all the pictures they gave me had me in them. In some form or another.

I tried to contact Brightroom via their contact us form on their site. It kept coming back that it was unable to process the comment.

Often times the photos are released before they are all identified correctly. I imagine, though I don't know for sure, that they run the photos through some software to tag the runners via bib number. They probably run it through a couple of different algorithms and then go through the ones that aren't marked manually.

Instead of waiting for all of the steps to be done they put them out there and update them as the algorithm runs. There have been a lot of times when I would check right away and have one or two pics and then check again in a week and have 10.

The color choice for the bibs might not help since there isn't really a lot of contrast difference between the white numbers and lightish blue bibs. I imagine if the people who took the picture designed the bibs they would have a larger difference in the colors or at least have the numbers outlined in a darker color.

This is all just an educated guess but I work in the computer field and this is who I think it is done.

I think you are right. I bet the lost and found photo section will get smaller (if not for the algorithms, but possibly for runners tagging their own photos) by the end of the week. One of the IT guys I work with commented the same way. It would be nice if they had quality control though because when we run algorithms, we have a member of the team check things out first and it doesn't look like that happened. :)

Oh well, you have to make a mistake to learn from it.

I didn't see anyplace to tag or move or sync photos to runners or bib numbers. If I am going to order the digital album thing, I want ALL the pictures, not most.

I also tried to claim one and found no way to do so. At least for now, it looks like only the photo company can claim photos for someone, though how you get that done, I don't know. :confused3 I think I'll wait the week out and see. Maybe they took labour day off and will get to work on running their programs.

On the plus side, I'm happy to know Drew Carey looked just as bad as I did in my photos. :rotfl:

[Edit]: They must have run somethng because lost and found is down to 16 thousand and a lot of them do have missing numbers.

I would agree, as earlier I had 54 photos, now I have 56. I can't tell which ones are new....and my medal photo still isn't there, but it is a work in progress I guess.

I have 1-2 new ones as well (none any better looking than before though, sadly). In addition to being able to tag photos of myself, I wish I could untag photos I'm not in. And remove duplicate images as it says I have 54 but really I only have about 30-40 as many are exact replicas.
