I'm planning a (grown-up) girls' trip to Disneyland with my friend who lives in LA. Considering going before the end of this year, but I'm concerned that all the construction at California Adventure will make the trip a bit disappointing. I've been to DL only three times before, and usually only get there every 7-8 years so this would be a special trip. My friend, although she lives in LA, is on a budget and hasn't been to DL since she moved to California 3 years ago. We'd probably only go to DL for 2 days. Is it worthwhile to go this year, or should we wait until more of the construction in CA is completed?

I don't think going now would be a disappointment, per se. It's going to be magical either way. But, waiting for Star Tours to reopen and Little Mermaid could definitely be a factor in determining when you should go. I would say, go at the end of the year, maybe either during Halloween or Christmas time. I find both holidays to be ALOT of fun :cool1: And if you go during Halloween you could go to Mickey's Halloween Party!! :thumbsup2 That's definitely a blast and sooooo much fun, even without kids :goodvibes But if you've got your heart set on seeing Carsland, wait until next year.

The way I see it is that DL is ALWAYS under construction and constantly changing things. Therefore, by the time Carsland opens, they could have another attraction in the works that would interest you and possibly push your trip back further. So my motto is go when you can/want and attempt to make regular trips back to get updated on what's new :wizard:

I would go. While there is a lot of construction in DCA, most of it will be in Carsland during your visit. A lot of the current walls will be gone.

Over the walls where there is construction in Carsland I'm sure you will mostly be looking at a finished Cadillac Range that rises high in the sky.

The worst part will be the DCA entrance. However there are so many rumors about how that will work out that I wouldn't put much stock in any of them. We have already seen a lot of transition in how this is working out.
