LOL--I know what you mean! Can't wait to meet you guys!

I am going to pick up four cases of water . . . . they will be in my room and then we can re-distribute after tomorrow night's festivities. Unless anyone has a preference I will just buy whatever looks good at the time!

How'd I miss out on the wine party? And I saw that Almond Champagne was involved....mmmmmmm! If we are doing a private wine party, let me know and I will hit up the Bev Mo.

Stacie: I am bringing a couple of bottles and a few snacks in hopes that we can get this together--it will depend on what everyone's schedules are for fireworks/Fantasmic etc.

Lesley: now that the parade has been eliminated as an option, do we know yet who is doing what when in the way of fireworks and Fantasmic?

IT'S ALMOST "D" DAY...ARE YOU READY TO PARTY?!!!

Hi everybody -- I've been a lurker on this thread for a couple of months now (while I was planning my family's trip to DL which was the first week of April). I just wanted to wish all of you a safe journey to and from Anaheim and hope you have the best time ever. If this evolves into an annual event...I might just join you the next time around! :goodvibes

Hey Cheryl, what a great thing for you to do!:thumbsup2 I know Cathy and I will want some bottled water, but we won't have time to stop and pick any up before getting to the Jazz Kitchen dinner. As a matter of fact, it's possible that we could be a few minutes late to the Jazz Kitchen too because of our late afternoon flight into Ontario and then driving through rush hour traffic.

Anyway, we'd love to purchase some bottled water from you if that's alright?:flower3:

Do any of you ladies have experience getting from Long Beach airport to Disneyland? I'm assuming that I'll just be able to get a cab when I get to the airport to take me to Residence Inn. I wasn't planning on arranging anything beforehand.

If anyone has experience on this, let me know.
I used to work at the Long Beach Airport! The do have cabs readily available there, and usually (at least before these ridiculous gas prices) offer flat rates to major resort areas. Here's the City of Long Beach's site with ground transportation info, and it does say the flat rate to Disneyland is $40 (as of 11/07) http://www.longbeach.gov/airport/transport/rentals.asp There are several other shuttle options too, which may be cheaper but could take a little longer. There are lots of phone numbers on the site, so maybe you could call for rates? http://www.longbeach.gov/airport/transport/shuttle.asp HTH!
Is someone picking up cases of water? If not, I can't make it to Costco (no time) but I can go to the local grocery and get a couple of cases for everyone to share (any favored brands?) If there are 24 in a case how many should I get? 2? 3? 4?

Are we doing a wine and snacky event? if so, I have a big tub of hummus I can bring and will get some pita chips to go with it. I can also bring my favorite snacky--blue cheese and figs! So let me know about that . . . .

I could still pick up water or whatever is needed at Costco, but since I'm not staying at a hotel, I'd need to know exactly when and where to drop it off, so it isn't just stuck in my car in the parking structure! Maybe I could drop things off late Thursday night when I head over to pick up my shirt?

Blue cheese and figs, YUM! I'll bring some wine too.

Good morning Lisa!:cool1:

Hey ladies, just so you know, Lisa (calypso*a*go-go) actually donated four DL refillable mugs to our ladies trip! Isn't that cool?!?! :woohoo:

They can be refilled up to five times per day at Rancho Del Zocalo, Redd Rocketts Pizza Port, and the Farmer's Market at DCA.

She shipped them down to the HOJO for me to pick up, and two of the mugs are up for grabs. Who wants them?:yay:

Hi there!! I hope your family trip was lots of fun!! And yes, next time you must join in the fun!!! :cool1:

Thanks for donating the mugs. That was really nice of you. :goodvibes

Wow, how generous of Lisa! :goodvibes

Not to be a downer, but are we sure they are refillable year round? I know AAA gives these refillable mugs out as an incentive with their packages in January and the refills are only good for those trips taken in January. At least that's the way I have understood it.:confused3 I hope I'm wrong, and if I am, I would LOVE a refillable mug! :thumbsup2

It's my understanding that the mugs can be refilled thru 4/28 -- so the timing couldn't have been better!!! I hope they don't turn out to be more trouble than they're worth...LOL!

If know else has PM'd you, I'd love to get the last one.

Thanks
Steph

Thanks for the advice. I'll plan on getting a cab once I get to the airport. I arrive at 1:35pm so hopefully I'll be at hotel by 3pm. I can't believe this is tomorrow already!

I'm up for any wine and munchie events! I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it on Friday, as I "think" I have fireworks and late fantasmic that night, though I'm not sure where everything ended up there. Otherwise, I'm pretty open. Sat. after the electric parade, and Thursday night is always an option too....I'll be bringing wine and plastic cups and munchies. I can also bring some beer, if there are those amoung us who would be interested in a beverage, but don't care for wine.

Okay, Callie and Steph have the mugs.:woohoo:

I'll leave them at the front desk of the HOJO for you ladies to pick up.:thumbsup2

Thanks again SOOOOOOOOOO much Lisa! That was really cool of you to do for us!:cheer2:

I think you could still make it on Friday. I believe it's supposed to be after the VIP tour, but before fireworks and Fantasmic. (I think.):goodvibes

Where exactly is this party taking place again? At the GCH?:confused3

I like bubbly and beer!

It's not a private party, EVERYONE is invited! It's a tradition with our little group to have a wine party when we go to WDW. We usually have it in a DVC Villa, but this time Dagny & I have offered our room. ALthough I wonder if we could have it in a 'common space' (lobby or?) at HOJO. I'm not up to shlepping a bunch stuff and since most of us are at the HOJO, that sounds like the most convenient space.
" Tiny bubbles in her cider, help her feel happy, help her feel Giddy..." :rotfl:

:rotfl: I know not everyone drinks, so I'm glad something bubbly can still fit the bill for you!

Everyone who comes is welcome to bring whatever you like. It's fun to have a variety of things. I know Dagny quite likes beer, but isn't too good with rum!pirate: I know many of you are coming from long distances, so no stress! Just show up and socialize, enjoy some goodies and then back out to the parks we go! I'm thinking this will be between the VIP tour and Fireworks on Friday. I think that is the day Lesley will be with us, so I'd like to make sure she is included.

Place : HOJO's somewhere, either Dagny & Chris' room or perhaps a lounge area. Not sure what is available and what they would allow. Doesn't someone here have the inside info on HOJO's? Can you ask them if there's a place for us to informally gather for an hour or two? Otherwise it might just be whoever gets the biggest room!
We could have it at the GCH, but then we would all need to buy our drinks an goodies there. I don't think they'd let us open wine and break out or snacks and have our own party. Not sure of HOJO's policy, they might not like it much either. So, we've offered our room, although a larger space might be better.

OK--I've emailed Lorealle to see if there is a space for our "mixer"--I told her we would clean up like good Disboarders! She doesn't get in until 12:30 so we won't hear anything for a couple of hours.

And I agree with Chris--I don't think the GCH would look very kindly on us BYOB-ing at their hotel!

Oh and Capri--the water is my contribution to the trip . . . . so whoever can just come by my room and take some (or my thought was that we could split the cases up among several rooms so it would be handier in case I wasn't around). I am planning on being up late Thurs. nite so maybe right after the parks close would be a good time for the Thurs. arriving ladies to come by and get some water.

Cheryl, that is so great of you to pick up water for the ladies! WOW, I always thought DISboard ladies were cool, but I had no idea just HOW COOL!!!:grouphug:

Water, refillable mugs, wine, beer, snacks, shutterfly account, organizing VIP tours, meals, shirts, lanyards, DL photo sharing, Lorealle's help, etc...... Heck, I think someone even offered a free park ticket! I mean, seriously, I'm truly humbled by everyone's thoughtfulness and generosity!:thumbsup2

Hi All -- I've missed so much on this thread!

I'm taking a really quick break at work --

Have meeting places been established? I looked on the first post & didn't see where everyone is meeting up -- or are we on our own until scheduled events?

Hey Mary Jo--a group of us are meeting at 5:15 on Thurs. nite at the Golden Horseshoe for Billy Hill--and then some are going on to the Jazz Kitchen at 6:30 (and some I guess are staying in the parks!). We may have a wine and snack get together at some point but still in planning stage. Should know more later this afternoon. Otherwise, I think for the most part it's scheduled events.

I have printed off cards with the cell numbers of the ladies who wanted to be on the list to give to them as a handy-dandy resource (unless like Shelley you've already entered them all into your phone!) and will give those out to the ladies on the list as I see you. So you could always call someone and see where they are too!

As for me, after the Thurs. nite events I am not sure that I will be up all that early and so will probably make it to DL in time for the Blue Bayou lunch followed by the VIP Tour.
