Disneyland Forever Fireworks

Whoa... this is crazy talk to me. IF you're wanting a prime viewing spot for PTN, I understand. But if your main concern is the fireworks, don't do this!

Hang out in the shops on Main St during PTN. When you see Mickey & Friends start to go by, get ready. As soon as the last float goes by, step out onto Main Street.

If you're only going to watch Fireworks once, Main St is the place to be. We watched it three times during our stay, once on Main Street, once by IASW, and once from our Blue Bayou F! viewing location at the Rivers of America. Main Street is by FAR the best.

My thoughts exactly! ::yes::

Can you see the Matterhorn from Main Street? What about Nemo and Tink flying? We have never been to Disneyland, so really have no idea what you can see from where. It sounds like maybe we need try to see the show twice....once from Main Street and once from the Hub....to really see all the different special effects?

We saw DLF from MS towards the castle. If you want to see the projections on MS you will not be able to see the Matterhorn from the viewing spot. You can see Nemo and Tink while the view is not great.

Has anyone watched from the train station? I watched from the hub in July and missed the projections on the buildings...plus I will have my children with me in November and I am thinking they would be able to see better from there?

Good advice....I was simply letting people know that you can't show up on Main Street right at fireworks time and think you'll get a good spot...the street will already be packed.
Your idea of hanging in the shops is a good one.

I've seen the fireworks at different locations. The first time, it was at the railroad platform upstairs. The center viewing area was roped off with several rows of chairs for VIPs. We were off to the right just past the stairs but as close to the center as possible. The views from that spot were poor, unable to see the castle, matterhorn or the projections. My favorite spot is near Jolly Bakery...I take seeing the projections on Matterhorn over the buildings.

To be fair, I read that advice somewhere. Can't remember if it was somewhere on this board, or DLR Prep School. But I am a big proponent of it now.

If you hang around on Main St during Paint the Night they take the ropes down around the time the Frozen Float goes by. You can just walk up behind the people watching the parade at that point. Another option to get to the front of that group is to walk up to one of the areas that people are allowed to cross the street at that point, either outside the Plaza inn/ jolly holiday, or outside the carnation cafe. They wont let you cross until after the parade is over but you can often times just walk right out and into one of the roped areas for the parade as soon as Mickey passes
