I am considering changing our trip dates from next May to either Nov. or Dec. of this year. I am so disappointed of all the losses after Jan 10th so we'd like to try and go before they begin Star Wars. I have never gone during Thanksgiving and/or Christmas and I've always wanted to anyway. I was wondering when would be a less crowded time to go? The week before Thanksgiving, the week after thanksgiving, or the first or second week of December? I would even consider the week after Christmas or the week after New Years Day..... any info on crowd levels would be great. There may be a thread for this but I wasn't able to find one. Thanks in advance!

Do not go the week between Christmas and NY! Busiest week of the whole year!! The first two weeks of December are a great time to go, in my opinion!

With Season of the Force starting Nov 16th, I think the Christmas crowds will be even heavier this year. Hopefully, the first week of December won't be too horrible.

The beginning of December is by by no means light any more. I have been going at that time for several years, and it used to be light. But each year it has been a lot busier. The second week last year was busier than I have ever seen it. Am sure not as busy as Christmas week, but busier than a busy summer day. 3 of the room categories for the GC already sold out for
the 10th thru the 13th. There is actually more availability the following week for the same time period. You can still go and have fun, but do expect crowds.

.....all weeks will be bad, with El Nino, 2016 closures (train massive heart wrenching closure)....Dudette will not be the only mouseketeer considering options.....mouseketeer is not on the spell check

Thanks for all the replies. I am just so disappointed with SWL and all the closures and it just feels too rushed to bump it up to December so I'll either shorten the May trip or cancel it. Thank you, fellow disers, for the advice though! :)

There's also January, where you could split the end of the Christmas with the days before everything closes.

I have to be honest and say that the Saturday we went last year during the Holiday season is the busiest I've ever seen DL, but in saying that, we normally go during the "off" season.
