I'm going with my daughter.....we leave next Sunday.
I have been many times, this will be the first time flying instead of driving because of a pinched nerve. It is getting better so hope I can walk around with her for at least most of the day.
Are you back from your trip? How was it?

I'm local so am flexible with respect to a meet up. @DizMe @Pluto468 @Tinkaboo and others. What would be a good time for you guys? @DizMe is approximately a 1 hr flight away. @Pluto468, did you say you were a 2.5 hr flight away? Both of you guys usually stay on site, right? What about you @Tinkaboo? How far away are you?
I'm in CO, 2 hours to LGB. I usually come quarterly-April, June or July, then fall or Christmas. I'll be there Dec. 12 with my longtime BFF.

Las Vegas is less than 4 hour drive, except Sunday or the last day of a holiday weekend when half of SoCal is heading back home o_O

Our upcoming schedule is:
12/9-12 Lights! I need more lights!
1/13-16 My b-day
2/20-22 Anniversary
5/5-8 DW b-day, Star Wars

It was great. Flight was fast. Caught a Taxi. Wandered around DtD until our villa was ready.
Walked to Cheesecake Factory for dinner....and that did me in!!
The next days were tiring but we walked a lot. I'm getting relief from a pinched nerve, so glad I could get around as well as I did, but I was tired about 3. Went back to the room and DD stayed for longer.

Thanks for asking.
DH and I leave for WDW Dec. 1, so hopefully I will do even better then.....but then we always go back early anyway.

I'll be at DLR 12/12-12/16. My sister and I go every year during the holiday season :)

I will also be going in January for my birthday, and I'll be bringing my grandson as his birthday is also in January and he'll be turning 14. It's not set in stone yet, but we'll probably be going Jan 23-25.

This is all dependent on my mom's health. She's 93 and amazingly sharp but has some issues of concern. Luckily, she has a companion who lives with her and my sister lives relatively close (1 hour). I'm 4-5 hours away and have been going over every so often for a week at a time, but my sister is the one who has really stepped in. We're both kind of holding our breath for our annual sister trip.

I'll be there on Dec 14 and 20. I've been trying to get Dec 13, but it has been "sold out" for MK for quite a while.

Just coming back to this thread to mention that my wife had knee replacement surgery last year and is nearly fully healed. When we go in July 2025 it will have been 1 1/2 years since the surgery. We really appreciate how close everything is there. To change parks its a short distance across the way. We almost always stay at the Grand California so that's handy as well.

'Value for dollar' I think the Grand is overpriced, but the 'short commute' to the Esplanade & the DCA entrance almost makes it worth it. I may have to grit my teeth when I make the reservation, but I still do it.

I couldn't find this board and I was wondering where it might be listed? I finally found it way at the bottom of a bunch of bookmarks I have. LKing, is there any chance it could be added as a sticky to the main Disneyland board? I didn't think to look under Trip Planning Forums, but then I'm not the most computer savvy person in the world. But I'm old, you know, because here I am on the Disneyland Seniors forum :)

A mod would have to do that.

When they created this Senior Forum, they titled it "Disney for Seniors" so I assumed they meant anything Disney. Then I looked at how they organize the website and what they mean when they use the word "Disney." They have a header called "Disney Trip Planning Forums" which means WDW planning. That section also includes Aulani and ABD, but not Disneyland. If you discuss Disneyland on that side, they ask you to move the discussion to the Disneyland forum to avoid confusion. Following that guidance, maybe this thread shouldn't be in the Senior Forum but should be in the Disneyland forum to avoid confusion. Should I start a new thread over there?

I think it would get more responses because it's pretty hard to find otherwise. I almost forgot about it but I thought of it today and was trying to figure out where it was! But it's too bad they couldn't add it as an adjunct board under the Disneyland umbrella, like the Community Board and the Trip Reports Board. It doesn't really seem like a great fit to hide it in Trip Reports; it didn't even occur to me to look there. I don't see why it would be a big deal to have 3 boards under the Disneyland name--Disneyland Community, Trip Reports, and Disneyland for Seniors.

And yes, I definitely think it should be separate from the WDW forums.

Edited to add: and thank you so much for starting this board! I do think it's a great idea but it's just too hard to find for a bunch of seniors. I suspect I'm not the only one who lost track of it :)

I SECOND OR THIRD THAT MOTION...Moderator, could we please please pretty please move this over to DISNEYLAND section of the forum? It would a lot easier forDisneyland seniors to find and engage on a daily or even weekly basis if they knew how to locate it easily. I think we are a pretty good size group and we are anxious to try and set up some get togethers.

ADDED: i just sent a request to a couple webmasters...hopefully theywill move it so we can find it easier!

ADDED: And,yes, @LKing, if they dont move it in a couple of days...i think we should start a new thread over there....😊
