Wow!! I'm getting to the age where family vacations are going to end so my parents decided to finally make a visit to the good old state of Calfornia. I'm paying my part for the trip so that we can stay long enough to do sightseeting, The Price Is Right, Universal, and Disneyland of course. Now here's the REALLY REALLY good news. My sister (who is moving out next week and not coming to CA) saw an ad for that package where you get to stay at Pop Century, tickets for the length of your stay, a meal + more each day for somewhere near $499 a person. In the past we always looked at packages as not saving any real money (discount codes, etc..) but with the recent lack of codes this deal seems like a good one. Is anyone doing this? I believe it starts the last week or so of August and runs for a month, not exactly sure. It would be my sister, her boyfriend, and myself, I don't think he's been to WDW in a while too!

I'm going to be REAL happy to return to Pop Century after an amazing stay there last year.

All I can say is that if I do get to do both trips, I sure am going to be the most appreciative person. What makes me feel not so guilty is that I will be paying my part for both.

After this summer, I have a feeling it's so long trips with the family. Why not make it a big last summer?

We're doing something similar - WDW in Oct., and then a trip out to Calif. in early Dec. to visit my father-in-law, who happens to live about an hour and a half from Disneyland, so . . . . how can we not spend a few days there!?! :rolleyes1

:goodvibes We did this just last summer. Whole family went to WDW and then DD and I went to California to visit my SIL for a week. These trips were 5 days apart! MY SIL lives 20 minutes away from DL/CA. It was so much fun to compare the two parks. Enjoy!!!

Yep! Been there! Done that! DL and WDW both in March of 2001 (see signature below).

My work decided to send me to the corporate version of the Disney Institute the same month that DH and I had our first DL trip planned! I didn't complain. Bought DH a plane ticket and he went along on the work trip too!

It was great!!!!! I felt (still feel) very lucky for the experience.

Woohoo! How cool!

We are doing something similar. DH and I are going to WDW for our 10th anniversary in July...just a long weekend 7/22-7/24. Then us and the kids are going to DL August 9, then on DCL Aug 13. A hat trick of Disney! :goodvibes

I'm actually doing that this August as a surprise birthday present for my sister (turning the big 2-0). She thinks we're going to WDW/Universal etc. Aug. 24- Sept. 5. But what she doesn't know is that we're stopping and doing DL Aug. 24-26. She thinks we just have a layover at LAX and will be leaving the same day for WDW. She's never been to DL and I went once YEARS ago, so this should be fun.

My biggest challenge will be to keep a lid on this. I'm still wondering if I should tell her when we're on the plane on the way to LAX or just head over to baggage claim at LAX like nothing's up.

I think it will be great for you to visit both resorts within such a short time. I think it is such ful to compare the 2 locacations. They are both fabulous in their own ways! Have a wonderful time!
