1. Does anyone have an experience with that weekend? I haven't gone at that particular time (I've done Halloween but it was at the end of September).

2. Anyone else going?

yes we go many times during October. The crowds are very low, it does get cool so bring a sweater or something. Some of the days the park closes early but because the crowds are low, you will probably walk onto just about every ride makes up for it.
Have a great time!:goodvibes

Hi Jen..we are going oct. 4th thru 7th...i do know that friday night disneyland will close at 5 for those with tickets to Miley's birthday party.. yet i believe that DCA is open til 12 that night.:goodvibes

Actually, the park closes early on Sunday night for Miley's Party and DCA will be open until 11:00 PM. It is also Gay Days that weekend. Not sure about the impact on crowds as we have always gone right afterwards.

6-10th we wiull be there and since gay days is 3-5th excpect more crouds but then again idk how much more and if it will relly matter. i think it will be med crouds when we are there and yes a sweater at night is a must

J*e*n - We will be there from 10/2 - 10/5, and from what I hear on this board, even though it is considered the off-peak season, there are various reasons why that weekend could be more crowded than usual. Gay Days, as previously mentioned, are one reason. Also a couple of school breaks in other states happen around that time. There was a special PIN# discount on Disney hotels that was sent out to many people a while back, and that is attracting a lot of visitors to DLR. BUT one thing that may keep the crowds down is the fact that the economy is very bad and the gas prices are high. Summer attendance was down, supposedly, so that bad economy could keep many people away through the rest of the year. Also, if it rains even a little bit on that first weekend in October, that, too, would be a deterrent. I always expect crowds of some kind and I just try to roll with it as best as I can, but I don't think it will be as bad as other crazy crowded weekends - not this year, anyway!

I am going Sept 30- Oct 2. That first weekend is Gay Day weekend and my experience in the past has been CROWDED! That was several years ago though. I think October is the perfect time to go!

I will be there the 2 - 5 ....

I usually go for Gay Days and have gone the last few years. The crowds can be higher than normal ... but I don't think it's to bad.

Also the last few years, Gay Days has fallen around Columbus Day ... and could have increased the crowd factor ... this year ... not a holiday weekend.

And with the economy being what it has been lately, I hear crowds in general have been off in the park for the most part ... Guess we will have to see!! :)

We are there the exact same days, Dan! Are you staying at one of the DLR hotels?

Not this trip ... me too be effected by the economy ... so will be staying at the Desert Inn this year.

Believe me, I know what you mean. I am one of the casualties of the very bad economy and high unemployment rate too! Had it not been for the special PIN# discount that floated around a few months ago for the DLR hotels, I would not be staying at the PPH this trip. The deals on rooms with the offer were pretty great compared to the regular off-peak rates. So, we got a big bargain on the hotel, basically getting three nights for what we paid for TWO nights at PPH last year in late September! In fact, I JUST recently discovered that I could apply two of my one-day/one-park tickets that a client had given me towards the upgrading to a multi-day park hopper, so if I get a 2-day Hopper and I apply my two tickets, I will only have to pay $11 to get in to the parks! Next thing to worry about is all the eating we tend to do in DLR, and that is pretty much taken care of, so I think all will work out. But it came VERY close to my not being able to go - I was thisclose to cancelling. As it is, I had to put the December trip on hold. I had a December trip planned for this year (love DLR around the holidays) and I cancelled when I lost my job. I am hoping to be able to reschedule, but am not going to push it. If it looks like it can happen without too much stress, I will plan it. Otherwise, I just won't do it and I will have to accept it!

Anyway, maybe we will run into each other in the park. It seems like a bunch of people from DISboards are going at the same time we are!
