Yep. With Obama we'll all be paying more taxes to fund more and more govenment programs to help people such as non tax payers. And the lower-middle/middle class will probably be hit hardest.

No tax increases are to increase income, both parties will be cutting government spending. Like with where the increased tax will be coming from, the difference will be what government spending will be cut and who it will affect the most.

Everyone will be hit, McCain is courting the middle/Upper class whilst Obama the Lower/middle class. Looks like middle America have the least to fear....

On a Disney note, I think there will be less APs sold, crowd numbers in the peak times will be down whilst numbers in the non peak times will be busier as people vacation closer to home. Disney appears to be committed to the first couple of rounds of CA do up, but they may decide to delay Carsland until numbers pick up. Expect a reduction in the number of staff employed but no redundancies, Disney financially appears in good shape.

As bad off as California is in terms of debt and unemployment and housing issues, etc., we are SOOOOO lucky to have DLR in our state. It is an extremely valuable source of revenue for us, and because it attracts people from everywhere near and far, those people also visit other California attractions while they are here, and spread revenue across the state. Anytime anyone from California (non-Disney fans) has complained to me that they don't like DLR for whatever silly reason - it is too "corporate" or "only for kids" or some nonsense - I always point out the bad economic shape California is in even WITH Disneyland here. Imagine where we would be WITHOUT IT?? I shudder to think. Thank the good Lord and Walt Disney for putting DLR here. And every other California resident who scoffs at the Mouse should be thankful too!

Anyway, I have been reading this post off and on for the past few days and I can relate this OP's negative comments to the following scenario:

OutofDisney4ever decides he wants to go to Rio de Janeiro for a nice, family trip but on a budget. He schedules the trip without doing a lot of research and then arrives to find out that it is Carnaval(Mardi Gras)! The streets are packed, there are people dancing everywhere(some of them almost nude) and people are having a great time. But he is not.

He forgets to buy inexpensive water at the market next to his hotel and has to fork over $2.75 for a bottle of water sold on the side of the road. Frustrated, his family decides they are hungry and head over to the restaurant where they have "reservations." Good grief! The rice and beans cost $5 more than he originally thought! The family storms out not having thought that they could split meals and order water to cut costs.

He comes back home disliking, maybe even hating Rio, when he should have done a little research, expected the obvious and just taken in the wonderful energy of this city.

I always wonder how one person on the disboards will say the park was super crowded and another person who was there the same day will say it was fine. I don't think my family has ever finished watching a fireworks show or parade because we always leave a little early to avoid the crowds. Traveling is about being smart, flexible, organized and adventurous!
