Disneyland Express

Have a question….we have never used this DL Express. We are trying to surprise our daughter with the fact that we changed our hotel reservation from the Candy Cane Inn to the Grand Californian. Our hopes are that it won't be obvious to her where we are going until they pull up to the resort and we say oh yeah, we are getting off here.
Can anyone tell me a little bit what check in to the Express is like at the Orange County airport? Should my husband kind of keep her occupied away from the check in area so it doesn't become obvious to her?

The bus driver will ask you which hotel you're going to as he's loading your luggage, so definitely keep her away, and let the bus driver know so he doesn't spoil the surprise.

When you go to get on the bus at SNA, the driver will take your luggage and ask you what hotel you are going to. Then you pick a seat and once it is time to leave, you head out.

One of the nice things is that the standard order of drop off is the Disney Hotels first with the DGC being the last one before going to the good neighbor hotels. If your daughter knows that the stops are done in a standard order (and doesn't hear you say where you are going to the driver) she'll won't think anything of it probably until you get up to leave the bus.

We took the Disneyland Express in March from SNA and the driver went to the Harbor Blvd. hotels first. We got dropped off at the Disneyland Hotel last.

Check into a taxi, it may be cheaper and you will only stop in one place, SuperShuttle would be similar in that it's a van with only 2-5 stops, not like the bus and it's 10-20 stops and 50 excited people talking about DL.
