Disneyland Entertainment Coming Back In Spring 2022

What is the status on the equipment as far as functionality? I am assuming the entire MSEP is in a warehouse on site? So far as we know, are all the WOC fountains even working at this point? Do we have any knowledge of how much rehearsals shows like Fantasmic would take to get running again?

Basically what realistic obstacles besides Chapek are they facing?

From recent park visits I can say that water is starting to refill the DCA lagoon area around WoC stage, not sure if it will stay but maybe they're testing some things. Fantasmic underground light towers have been brought out some nights, along with fountain work being done.

Seems like Spring/Summer 2022 would be a good guess (keyword: guess.) Who knows what's going on with budget or staffing/rehearsal levels though until we hear official date from Disney rather than general "2022"

What I think Disneyland is planning to do is put another show in place of Mickey And The Magical Map but have it Princess themed in the Fantasyland Theater but like past shows that have been there it will probably be a hit for two months then end as we saw with Snow White An Enchanting New Musical and I don't know how this show was even made? When I saw the Snow White show it reminded me of a school play and just felt weird. As for Tales Of The Lion King I think it's weird to have a show based on The Lion King when it's not a current popular film at the moment and they should've had an Encanto show instead. As for the Hyperion Theater DCA will probably remove the theater seats and everything else and turn it into a Marvel heroes meet and greet area and by the time it will be done character meet and greets with hugs and autographs will return. I saw Magic Happens on Youtube with my mom and it's a shame that this parade is not returning because I think the reason why Magic Happens failed because it cost too much money and it's probably gonna be replaced by another parade but from what I saw of it it looked wonderful

On a daily basis, I don't think Magic Happens would cost more than Main Street Electrical. All those lights take electricity. But what likely happened is that most of the dancers for Magic Happens got laid off so Cheapek doesn't want to train new dancers. Main Street Electrical also has the added bonus of enticing people to stay later and thus eat dinner in the parks rather than leave to eat elsewhere.

I just don't see Disney investing in new shows right now. Tales of the Lion King is super cheap and already produced so they can just slap it in the Fantasyland theater and pretend they've done something. But hopefully they do decide to put something better there soon. Encanto isn't popular enough for a full theater show. But I'm sure whatever they put will be positioned to drive merchandise sales rather than be good in itself like Magical Map was.

Hyperion Theater is way too big to use as a meet and greet area. They could fit an entire E-ticket attraction there if they wanted to. But I mostly see it being left empty for a while before a new show is put in there. If they were going to put a recycled show in there, I see them bringing back Aladdin or doing an adapted version of the Golden Mickeys. Maybe they can even recycle some costumes from One Man's Dream II.
