Disneyland elopement questions

We are booked to elope in our room at the disneyland hotel this oct 31 with 4 family member. It's been difficult to find much information on disneyland as compared to disneyworld. Talking to the disney wedding staff unless you are purchasing a package there is really not much else you can arrange to celebrate at the hotel or park. Does anyone know if you can have a photographer i. Downtown disney? Any information from someone who didn't purchase a package would be very much appreciated!!

At Disneyland you can shoot with a professional photographer anywhere—at the resorts, at Downtown Disney or inside the theme parks. What you can't do is wear bridal attire inside either of the parks.

I dont believe that is accurate. We had a Disneyland wedding (through DLR) and our photographer had to come from a list of Disney preferred vendors to be able to shoot in Downtown Disney and Disneyland park. Our photographer was only let into Disneyland with our wedding planner present to give the cast member at the entrance the 'ok'. We also were permitted to wear our wedding attire in the park.

That's because you had an official Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding. The OP is planning to get married in her room and just do a photo shoot in the parks. Because you went through DFTW, you were allowed to wear your wedding attire in the park, but you also had to jump through all those hoops to do it.

Anyone can bring a pro photographer into the parks for a photoshoot in street clothes—witness the hundreds of Disneyland and DCA engagement portrait sessions posted by SoCal wedding photographers. We just did a shoot at DCA a few months ago and had no issues whatsoever—we even had a Red Car cast member tell us he'd witnessed countless photo shoots since Buena Vista Street opened.

That's so awesome! My fiance and I plan to do the same thing in January. Please let me know how the wedding worked out in your room. I would love details. I am looking for an officiant now. I also found out that you can buy packages now form the disneyland photographers that take your pictures all day. Go on disney photo pass. I planned on grabbing every DL photographer I see and having them snap away. We have cute jeans/t-shirts with the ears planned out. I made them special on Etsy.

I am curious how you booked an elopement at Disney. Is it something you did through Disney Weddings, or are you using an outside officiant?

I'm using an outside officiant You can't "elope" in Disneyland with them for under 5K. You can however get married in your hotel room as long as you don't try wearing a wedding dress in the park you are fine. I spoke to the hotel directly to make sure they won't be upset. Your room is your room.
