Disneyland ECV/wheelchair question

I'll be going to DLR with my sister next week and, because of her advanced rheumatoid arthritis, she'll need a wheelchair or ECV. She can walk short distances, but wanted a chair of some kind as a backup. I want to know if it's safe to leave a wheelchair/ECV outside of an attraction (like what is done with strollers) while you're on the ride or will she need to leave it with a CM at every stop. I guess I'm asking if people steal them or take them on joy rides if the vehicles are left unsupervised.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I have never heard of one being taken although there are apparently a fair number of people who think it is okay to sit on/in them. :confused3

I have a personal manual wheelchair and they always take good care of it for me. I have never had anyone else try to wander off with it. Even if a CM has to move your ECV, they can put it in freewheel mode (really only the CMs know where this lever is) and scoot it by hand, so you can always take the key with you.
