Disneyland & Dogs

I have to chime in here...nor do I believe they have a place in public, unless it is called a “dog park”. pluto: :tink:

WOW! Seriously. WOW!

There are people who are extremely allergic to perfume. Should no one be allowed to wear perfume at Disneyland?

There are people who are afraid of crowds. Should no more than 500 people be allowed in DL/day to accommodate?

I think that it is a bit extreme to say that dogs in public places violate your rights. That's why they are "public" places. :goodvibes

Laws regarding public health outline where animals are and are not allowed. If (and I don't know) they are permitted on restaurant patios, I suppose you should take issue with the law, not those who are adhering to the law.

Saying that one with fears or allergies could avoid service dogs because they are wearing a vest makes no sense. Dogs aren't invisible. If someone can avoid a dog with a vest, they can avoid a dog without a vest. Just sayin....

Anywoo, you are of course welcome to your opinion, but I would just suggest looking at how far people are supposed to bend to accommodate those who don't want something as well as those who do.

I have to chime in here. I know I will offend someone here, but I really feel offended as well. With that said here I go.
I have a cousin who is extremely allergic to dogs. Having a dog near her at Disneyland would definitely ruin her visit. If not worst.
I also have a friend who is deathly afraid of dogs after being attacked and mauled by one. And yes she was told “my dog does not bite”.
I think things have gone so far to the left in this world that people are only thinking of their personal agendas and not the effect they can have on others. We all have rights and I for one feel like dogs in public places violate mine.
Who assumes the labiality if the dog bites? The business owner that let the dog in or the owner? History has shown us that both will be held responsible. And after all we all know who has the deepest pockets in this situation.
What about health codes? Do you really want to find a dog hair in your latte?
Then there is the issue of where do they do their “business”? Hello!? (Pretty disgusting to me.) I have witnessed a dog peeing on a basket of merchandise at a flea market. The poor vendor lost out, and yes the dog and owner scurried off.
There is an exception as to dogs that help the handicapped. But they are highly trained. They also stand out with their vests on stating that they are handicapped dogs, so that people with fears or allergies can see them and stay far away.
So, for me please leave your dog at home or in the kennel. You know I for one do not find your dog cute, nor do I believe they have a place in public, unless it is called a “dog park”. pluto: :tink:

Well it looks like you have offended more the one person, so I will chime in here myself. I had to have a hysterectomy at a young age due to cancer, so will never be able to have children, my dogs are like my children to me. For those of us that take having a dog as the responsibility that it is, we clean up after our dogs, our dogs don't stink, etc. So yes, when you say you will offend some, yes you have, you should pick your words more careful, some of us, our animals are all we really have.

If the place allows dogs, it's not up to you whether or not I being mine. Actually, it's not up to you either way.

You say you don't like dogs so they shouldn't be allowed in public. Well, I don't like smokers...but i'm not going to go stand next to a smoking area and complain. I don't like kids, but i'm not going to tell you not to take yours out in public to suit me.

Point being, just because you *personally* don't like something does not give you the right to ask/tell others not to do, have, use, bring, eat, drink, etc that thing. You point out that it's a public place so we should all be considerate of the public and all the types of people that will be there...but you aren't doing that. You are complaining about going to a public place that allows dogs and there being dogs there.

If it's that big of a problem for you, then the solution is for you to not put yourself in that situation/place...not for the entire world to bend to you and change their policies to suit you.

**as a side note, and i'm only speaking for my own dog, but she only "does her business" about 3 times a day. just because a dog is outside doesn't mean it's going to poop. it's not the only thing they do, you know.**

:rotfl:

Look, people and the things they want to do in public are always going to rub someone the wrong way (smokers, crying babies in restaurants, dogs, rudeness, etc.). Tolerance is the key. I don't like what other people may do, but my best bet is to ignore it! ;)

I think things have gone so far to the left in this world that people are only thinking of their personal agendas and not the effect they can have on others. We all have rights and I for one feel like dogs in public places violate mine.

Really? So, just curious...do you feel like people that live in urban areas should have to pack their dogs into their car and drive them to a dog park to do their business? Or should city dwellers be banned from having dogs, period?

Also, what rights specifically do you feel are being violated? I've never seen anything in the Constitution that gives you the right to never encounter dogs.

Who assumes the labiality if the dog bites? The business owner that let the dog in or the owner? History has shown us that both will be held responsible. And after all we all know who has the deepest pockets in this situation.

The owner assumes the liability if the dog bites. Which, honestly, doesn't happen often in public. And the it's up to the business if they want to allow dogs or not. They can certainly make a "no dogs" policy, so if they want to take a risk, what do you care? If you don't like their dog friendly policy, no one is holding a gun to your head to patronize that business.

What about health codes? Do you really want to find a dog hair in your latte?

I haven't seen too many coffee houses that hire dogs as Baristas. I think you're far more likely to find a human hair in your latte. Again, if your local coffee house allows dogs and you don't like it....don't go there.

So, for me please leave your dog at home or in the kennel. You know I for one do not find your dog cute, nor do I believe they have a place in public, unless it is called a “dog park”. pluto: :tink:

Sorry, but I find your arguments pretty flimsy and kind of silly. Dogs are a commonly accepted component of our society. My dog and I don't care that you don't find her cute. If you don't like it, you're free to cross the street.
