I just feel that those considering the DLR CP should be aware of this.
We had a Union meeting recently with regards to what to demand in the new contract for Frontline Operations that will be negotiated in the next few months.
The College Programme was raised as a topic, and was nearly the most controversal topic of the night (quite easily the one that provoked the most raised voices), which seemed to come as a surprise to a few people.
After listening to everything, I would at the very least expect a cap on the number CPers accepted in the very near future. As it already exists in Park Food & Beverage and is a fairly extreme sticking point (heck, it overshadowed discusision on wages) for a lot of Part-Time CMs.
These are all proposals at the moment, and may or may not occur, depending on the upcoming labour negotiations. However, I do think it is something to take into consideration. The proposed cap, at the very least, would make the DLR CP extremely difficult to get into, as it would apply to almost all the roles available.
On the upside, there wasn't anything against CPers themselves, who most seemed to agree were generally good people. That's a big improvement from even just recently, lol.
