I have two 1 day tickets sitting in my app. They don't specify any expiry date, and they just have a bar code to scan at the turnstiles. They have my name on them. Can anyone with a bit more knowledge of the app tell me how tickets like this work? Do they vanish when used or if expired? I honestly have no idea where they came from!

I assume you actually bought two tickets online or via the app? If you did not, you should call Guest Services asap, because a mistake clearly has been made. (And please do call -- if these are someone else's tickets, this mistake needs to be fixed right away.) If these are indeed your tickets, then you will show the bar codes on your phone to the CM at the turnstile. The CM will scan the codes and print out paper tickets to give you.

The tickets don't disappear from the app when they're used, so they are probably old tickets from a previous trip of yours. I still have tickets in there from the past couple of years. I hope they change that aspect of the app eventually because it does make things confusing.

If you've never purchased 1-day tickets either through your disney account or through the app, then it does sound lile a mistake was made.

Ah ok they probably are old tickets then. I couldn't figure out why they didn't have an expiry date on them. They should really remove old ones once used!
