Disneyland Annual Passports

We're going to Disneyland next month and although we don't have plans as yet to go back, considering we live in Las Vegas, and it is just a 4-5 hour drive, we thinking about annual passports.

My question is: How do the annual passports work at Disneyland? When you buy an AP for WDW prior to arrival, as I purchased mine at a Disney Store, I need to exchange it for the real AP at one of the Disney World Parks and then you do a biometric finger print at the turnstile instead of a picture.

Does Disneyland use picture ID on the AP and if you purchase your AP online, is it basically a certificate to be exchanged for the actual AP.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I am also in Las Vegas and I am a Premium AP. We head over to DLR about 5-6 times a year for 2-4 days at a time (long weekends typically) so it is totally worth it for us. We bought our APs online and like you said then send you a small paper ticket that you turn in when you arrive on the first day. Then you go to the AP Center in the Bank on Main Street and they ask for photo ID and print up your AP cards.

I love being an AP so that we can go for the weekend and not feel guily about spending partial days on Friday night and Sunday mornings. We discovered that once you factor in free parking and the discounts you get on food and merchandise that a Premium AP costs just about the same as you would pay for two 3 day park hoppers.

Also, I don't know where in Vegas you are but we are in Green Valley where the 95 and 215 come together and it takes us 4-4.5 hours with no stops to get to DLR (depending on traffic).

Hi,

We're where the 95 and 215 intersect, but in the far northwest, Centennial Hills. The last time we went to Disneyland (August), it took us a little over 5hours, but that was with a stop in Buena Park for lunch.

I am so sorry that we didn't buy the AP the last time we were there, bought a 3-day park hopper at AAA, which wasn't bad, but an AP would have saved us on this trip.

Thanks for the info.

Vegas? You already live at Disneyland!

I used to say that Las Vegas is Disneyland for adults. I haven't been to a Disney Park (prior to last month) since I moved out of Florida in 2001 and being a former cast member at WDW, I started feeling homesick for a Disney park.
