I recently read that disneyland will turn 60 next year. We are planning our first trip to disneyland in July 2015. Do you think the anniversary will draw in more than normal crowds? Any tips for our first time going to the land? We have been to WDW four times most recently this June. Thanks for all your help and advice!

June 2014-POR; January 2013-POFQ; September 2011- POFQ; and May 2010-ASM

It probably won't be any busier than a normal summer day. This event draws larger than normal numbers of fans and nostalgia buffs, but the tourists usually go somewhere else on July 17. My experience with the 50th was that the die hards went mainly for the "day of" merchandise and the ceremony at the castle. Main Street was the most crowded I've ever seen it. But by noon, the crowds had dispersed quite a bit.

This could all change if Disney throws a 24-hour event on July 17. There are even rumors of a 60-hour party. Who knows what Disney will do?

There is no information about the 60th yet. Apparently more will be given out on July 17 to some lucky guests at DLR.
