Disneyland and Orlando without a car!

hi there i am new to the boards, my boyfriend got his visa yesterday so we are off to the orlando at the end of may, we are staying on international drive but aren't hiring a car, can anyone give me any tips on the best and cheapest way to get to disney without one!

i think our hotel offers some free transportation but not to all worlds. when i went a few years ago we used the mears buses but it worked out quite expensive! ideally i would love to see some of the evening parades.


any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, I am not sure exactly what you want to be doing, but if your hotel has a shuttle to Disney World ( not Disney land, that is in California ), then once you are at one of the parks, you can use the disney busses to get from one park to the other. You can also ride the monorail to get to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. Getting back to the hotel could be an issue depending upon when and where your hotel shuttle goes, probably the TTC. There is also a public bus that goes from the TTC to International drive. I am not sure of the schedule or where it stops, but it is very inexpensive.

When we go to Disneyland we have a shuttle pick us up at John Wayne Airport to get over to Disneyland. Too much of a urban area for me to drive around not being familiar with the area.

When we go to Walt Disney World we always rent a car as it's not so urban and WDW is really spread out.

I agree about renting a car if at all possible. Check out the discounts available with car rentals. www.mousesavers.com

But, I would definately compare / shop prices of staying at allstars (value) or what price is in your budget, with the added convince of magical express and disney's own transportation. It might work out more economical in the long run, depending on where or how much you are paying. Unless you plan to only visit disney for a day or two.
