Disneyland and ECVs

Hi, everyone --

I'm coming out to Disneyland in September and will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. I'm wondering if I should get an ECV from an off-site company so I have it at all times. What rental companies do you recommend? Will the battery last all day? Where can I recharge if not? Can I leave the ECV by the entrance to the hotel rather than bringing it up to my room? Any other suggestions?

I use an ECV at DL and I highly recommend renting from an off site company. If you rent one at the park, you cannot take it to DTD or your hotel. I charge mine every night and have never had to charge it in the parks, but I would guess there are plugs somewhere where you could charge it! I believe you can leave it overnight with the bell services, but I always take mine to the room.

I would recommend Apple Scooter. They have a website and you can book online. The deliver and pick up to your hotel. I've used them three times now and never had any issues whatsoever. They have great prices too!

I use ScootAround or One Stop Mobile. Their scooters are very well maintained. I had a bad experience with Apple Scooter, so won't use them again.

If you charge the scooter overnight, and have the proper scooter for your weight range (be sure you weigh 50+ lbs less than the maximum and take into consideration any stuff you may be carrying while on the scooter), you should be good to go all day. If you do need to charge it, you can take it to the rental counter right outside the gates and they will help you.

Yes, several businesses deliver straight to the hotels. I think I used Apple last time and had great service and no problems. I've used one on 3 trips now for a knee injury, and we have gone commando from early morning until late at night--never had a battery even get half way down. I wouldn't leave it at the entrance though. Lots of people park them out in the hallways near the door to the room, but we always bring ours in the room at night. If we're just coming back to the room for a short time, I'll park it in the hallway but take the key in with me.
