Disneyland after dark Star Wars nite party

I am a huge Star Wars fan - while my family LOVED it, I didn't mind the return to Space Mountain this last trip - it's great though - I refuse to go during Halloween though so will never ride GG - but that's just cause I hate Halloween.

How long does it close to change to HSM? We will be there 4/27-5/1 and now I’m afraid it will be down the whole time.

It depends. Usually for these change overs like ghost galaxy it’s down 3 or 4 days. Usually a mon -Thur or tues-Thur. It’s just a matter of turning on the projectors and making sure the programming is programmed.

I might cry then! I’m guessing it will be closed all day until the evening of 5/3 when the special SW event starts so those people attending the event get the first rides on HSM at the event? If that’s the case, then maybe they will wait and close it 5/1 on the day we leave to change it over. Prayers!

Hi! So am I correct in assuming DL will close to those without the event ticket at 9pm?
With these After Hours events, are most of the other rides open as well? Or just the few listed in the link?
Thanks!

Also I think it was already asked but are all the rides available for this event? Example: Big Thunder and Indy
Yes Disneyland will close to regular park guests at 9pm that night. At the last After Dark event pretty much everything that had been open during the day were still open at night for the entire event with little to no wait (with the exception of Toontown which remained closed). I suspect it will be the same this time around as well. Officially Disney says-
After-Hours Attractions:
With less time waiting in line, you can enjoy riding some of the park’s most iconic attractions—including Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, "it’s a small world," Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Jungle Cruise, to name a few!”

Can anyone tell if there are any special things happening during the event that won't be available during the following regular park days? I get there could be special photo sets, but it seems the March of First Order, Rey, and Hyperspace Mountain will be ongoing. No special fireworks or other things?

I originally thought, absolutely I'll do this, because STAR WARS! But then, when I looked more at it, there are probably going to be insane lines for everything (I mean the previous one had huge photo lines and that wasn't even SW), so it doesn't seem worth the $95...
Yes, I think many things will be available to the GP on Friday, with the exception of a few extras they’ll throw in for the party. But I’m hoping that for the party lines will be short. They are selling a limited number of tickets. I don’t have a lot of experience with ticketed events, but the one time I went to one, lines were quite short. Friday is our last park day. And I think I read somewhere Friday is a grad night? :scared: So we plan on getting tickets, my daughter is a huge fan.

“Mix in” admission starts at 6pm, and that is my understanding, you need event ticket after 9:00 I’m not sure what attractions will be open, they listed a few attractions and indicated there are more, said “to name a few”

I hope they wait till Tues to close it. I haven’t rode Space Mtn, it was closed for our Sept trip. And I’d like to get a chance of riding it both before and after overlay to experience both!

It sounds like it’s only going to be closed on the 3rd from the calendar.
