Disneyaddict1973/Swan wedding TR

OMG - you looked absolutely beautiful! Your hair, your dress, and the flowers are just perfect for you. And your daughters - absolutely adorable!!!!

:scared1: On the original back-up location. But yes, Rev Tim does have a good eye and where you ended up was much better!

I have questions...
Did you chose Rev Tim?
Didn't you have the package through JM? Was your arch supposed to be decorated?
Maybe I am jumping ahead - but where is your cake? Or do I just have to be patient and wait for more installments from you popcorn:: (looking forward to them)...

:flower3:

Oh my GOODNESS! :scared1: I can't believe they wanted you to enter from the closet/bathroom in the original room!!!

But I have to say, Rev. Tim has a good eye - I think the atrium looked great! I really love the colors of the room and the art on the walls with your bouquet - it made for some very nice pictures.

And in the end, you were married! :cloud9:

Imagine, walking out of a CLOSET to your wedding? Insane!
Thank you for the kind words. I have been so disillusioned since the wedding that it has taken me this long to accept what happened and look on the bright side. I did get some great pics. One's that we loved. Thank you for your never ending positivity:love: You are "good people" Lurky.

Uh oh I'm getting married at the swan next may and am now a little nervous. Not because your wedding didn't turn out beautiful because it absolutely did! It's good to hear that Rev. Tim was a great guy..I have him booked! The atrium was a beautiful place and you looked absolutely gorgeous! My main concern is the wp from just marry and how she acted! She wasn't accomodating at all and the fact that she didnt answer your calls so close to your wedding! Thats horrible..that's her job! What was her name? Did you pay to decorate your arch and they didn't decorate for you? I am soo sorry for the stress you had to go through!...but in the end everything turned out sooo nice and your kids are just adorable!

Hi Xmas Pixie!!! Thanks for the compliments :) Yes, Rev. Tim was a "Godsend" Pun intended ;) I chose him through JM. Best decision I made, well that and choosing Fixed Focus as well. Had it not been for all of them, I might have seriously lost it, SERIOUSLY. Yes, I did get the arch through JM. TOTAL WASTE OF CASH! Even when she did finally decorate it, pathetic, and cheesy IMHO. I had originally asked to have it covered with greenery and flowers and the florist wanted $750.00 for GREENERY! So, no. I told them to keep their arch. I will post more in a sec ;)

Purple, thanks for being so kind. Rev. Tim? You are going to love him. I chose him based upon the review of another Bride here on the boards, and I was really pleased with him. He was calm, kind, and put a humorous spin on things that I so needed at that point. I was originally going to use a notary, since Mike is not Christian, (or anything else, actually) but, my Faith took over and I ended up asking for him instead. Anyhting else you may want to know such as prices I paid, and names, PM me :) I will fill you in. Ok, back to writing....

The "witnesses" sign the certificate :) Another Rev. Tim touch....

And the CAKE! Honestly, the best cake I have EVER had in my life....and I (as u can see) have had lots of cake in my day ;)

I'm sure everyone is curious as to why our cake had no topper. Well.....our luggage was lost and the topper THE RINGS, my shoes and Ava's shoes for the wedding were in the bag. As was all of Nana's clothes for the week! We improvised, and skipped the topper and put Ava in blue flip flops. We also basically skipped the ring ceremony since not a single ring in WDW would fit Michael's size 12 finger. Another thing Rev. Tim rolled with and the ceremony was seamless....NOBODY even noticed the rings absence from the ceremony for days. The bags arrived at exactly 10:20 that morning, the wedding was at 10! Ahhhhhhhhh my "dream wedding".....

We ate cake, listened to acoustic versions of my favorite band's songs and went to the lobby to wait for the limo. I was more than thrilled to say goodbye and good riddance to my WP, but I was def. teary and thankful when I said goodbye to Rev. Tim. We sent the family and friends in the limo first so we had quite a wait at the Swan. Fixed focus took advantage of the wait time and took the pics that most accurately summed up the wedding lol....

I HAD to put the mickey ears on him....I love that pic.
We then took off for the GFC. It was nice to be alone in the limo for a few minutes.

After we ate, we took s few more posed pics.

We jumped on the monorail in the pouring rain and headed for MK to grab the boat to WL. We made quite a scene that day in all that rain!

At last, the DISNEYMOON BEGINS!

Hello neighbor!! :) Sort of... I lived in Somerville for the past 10 years, though we recently relocated to western MA.

Thank you for posting your experience!! You looked absolutely radiant that day!! I agree that Rev. Tim was a lifesaver & I think the room you ended up in was very pretty!

The only aspect of your day that I think was disappointing was the lady from JM:sad1: Isnt part of her job to be emotionally supportive in times like that??

Some questions if you dont mind:

Do you HAVE to go through JM to book a S/D wedding? Can you book directly with the hotel or go through someone else?

Also, your cake was so lovely! Was that an upgraded cake or the one that was included in the price of the wedding?

I'm sooo sorry to hear everything didn't go as planned!! ! You look great in your dress and your dye job looks good w. the different contrasts in colors... Daughters look so cute in their dresses too!! We are using rev. tim come july of next year and you've just made me more excited and comfortable that I'm using him since he stood up for you!!

I'm sorry your day didnt go to plan.

But just wanted to say how beautiful you look!! And that your little girls are so gorgeous!!!! :goodvibes

Wow! Congrat's on the wedding! You all looked lovely!

I have almost the exact same story about my rainy Swan wedding. It started raining 10 mins before the ceremony for me in 2005. They didn't know what to do with us and moved us into the banquet room. My sister started pulling in potted plants from the hallway! Funny how 3 years later they still don't have a 'rain' plan!
I didn't get my dream wedding either but I did make it very memorable for us. (and now I get to bug DH to do a VR WDW style someday!)

and I have to agree THE CAKE WAS THE BEST THING EVER!! :)

Oh you look so beautiful!! I am so sorry things didn't go as well as you'd hoped but you have a fun story to tell, lol :)

I live just north of Boston in Westford! I just read through your TR and I can't believe how you were treated by your WP through JM! I would be furious! I am glad you made the best of it and you still had an enjoyable day! Your daughters are so cute!

Subbing popcorn:

I am in Quincy, so I am in your neck of the woods. It is always fun to read about a fellow Mass bride!

You looked absolutely gorgeous! I am sorry about all the problems, but especially your WP. I can not believe she acted the way that she did! I am mad for you!

Wow, everything that could go wrong did go wrong! Sounds like something that would happen to me ;)

Everything looked great in the end. You will have a very funny story to tell people at least. You'll just have to wait the required time for it to be funny to you.

:woohoo: I love your TR... OMG Amiee you looked fabulous! I love your hair and your dress was beautiful..

Wow reading your TR makes me want to call JM and tell them off.. They are horrible in not calling you back. I would end up on my wedding day in jail in a wedding dress... The one thing I can say is that in your pictures with the way you look, the girls and just knowing your wedding pictures are amazing makes up for that horrible experience you had..

You should contact them JM and Swan/Dolphin either by email or written letter and tell them a few things! You deserve some type of compensation..

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful and I give you so much credit for the way you handled the events of the day. You looked stunning and you weren't tear-streaked. That says a lot. And I agree, at the end of the day, what matters is the marriage, not the wedding, but it is so hard when you've planned everything so beautifully only to have someone else fail in their responsibilities. Congratulations to you and your entire family on a beautiful, beautiful wedding. I hope everything is going smoothly for all of you and you are settled in to your "happily ever after."

wow. :sad2:

I am so sorry! I cannot believe they would put you in that room! It was hideous! that's the type of room we got ready in. Not married in! I would have preferred getting married in the rain than that room. yuck. I would have thought that they would use a regular ballroom for a wedding, not a makeshift meeting/hotel room.

Thank goodness for rev tim! That room was soooo much better.

I was trying to keep an eye out for your TR. I am sorry that JM dropped the ball. I think that the Swan/dolphin catering is also to blame. They should have had an acceptable back up location available. I would definitely write a letter to both the Swan and Just Marry. I think that they are going to lose business from the many people that read about them through the Dis boards.

I hope the rest of your trip was better!

Your omments have made me feel alot better, really:goodvibes These last few weeks have been really hard. I have just had such a hard time coming to terms with the fact that our wedding wasn't anything like it was supposed to be. There were definitly good things that came from it and good things that happened but, I am not going to lie (to you guys anyway ;) ), it's is devistating when I think about the fact that we can NEVER get our wedding "back" it will never be what we planned. Michael, the guy wo wanted nothing to do with the planning is the most upset and furious that we spent nearly as much as we would have for a DFTW and got married essentially, in a hallway. The good thing is that we hired really good photographers who were able to see and capture beautiful moments we missed. I almost feel as if THEY CREATED THEM! They made that space LOOK nice and kept everything positive. Had it not been for them and Rev. Tim I would be a shambles b/c it would have been a complete disaster.
So....THANKS TO YOU ALL!
