Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

Hello everyone! I think this is an excellent opportunity, and am looking forward to taking part in an Open Enrollment program during our July trip. My husband and I are leaders for Cub Scouts and Brownies, respectively, and we are hoping that our children's attendance at a YES program will earn each of them a badge. Has anyone attended the Properties of Motion or Ocean Discoveries program? I am trying to decide between the two for my kids, who will be 10 and 9 when we are at the World this summer.

Does anyone have any opinions on either of these 2 programs, or is there anyone on this thread who is intending to sign up for either one?

I've not been able to read this whole thread (yet ), but I have been checking the YES program website each day.
We are hoping they will be annoucing the homeschool days for September soon. I believe this was about this time last year that the September dates were annouced! We have never done disney's homeschool days, and since we became aware of it, we've been hoping to have a chance to participate. We are hoping for homeschool days and free dining on our upcoming trip. We have our dates picked but if we have to change them, we will.

FYI: Just saw the dates for homeschool days! September 8-9, 2010 and January 24-25, 2011

Open enrollment is open

Was able to register for June 28th Ocean discoveries program and get 5 day park hoppers.

They say that they will not charge your credit card until you are confirmed for the event, so I don't know how long that takes.

I am trying to register for the American Story class but it doesn't come up, it makes me pick another class and then it comes up as an additional class, I wonder why? I am looking at June 23.

Does anyone know if the GAD voucher can be applied against the cost of the YES program ticket?

It's a really good ticket price but when I compare it to the regular tickets minus the GAD voucher it isn't that significant savings.

No, it can't.
To upgrade your GAD, you have to trade it in for a 1 day pass at a park, then upgrade it at Customer Realtions.
The YES tickets have to be purchased in advance.

I ordered five 7 day park hoppers. With the 4.50 handling charge and $10.00 shipping, our total was $880.10.
Had I ordered them from Disney they would have cost $1522.95. Subtract the 5 GAD vouchers we have and they would have cost $1127.95.
We saved $247.85, plus my grandson gets to go backstage at Living With the Seas. Pretty good savings in my book!

It's charging you an additional rate because you've gone on to the second page of classes, which are for additional classes (over the 1 that's included).

I know because I kept running into that problem.

I would guess that no they couldn't be applied but if you don't use your GAD voucher for admission you could use it for the fastpass card which if you're going in the summer when the crowds are heavy might be a really great option! Just something to consider...

Is there anyone out there planning to join in for a class or two between June 17 and June 19? What class(es) are you interested in?
I would love to choose classes for my kids that are sure to have enough class members and not get canceled!

Can you add non-expiring to these tickets, or is that a no-go because they are discounted tickets?

My understanding is that they are good for 7 days before arrival and 7 days after departure (that info is required when getting the tix). If I am wrong, I am sure someone will chime in.........

Hi again. Just checking in to see if anyone is thinking about classes on any date from July 11 thru 19. I would hate to sign my kids up for classes and them have the class cancelled because of insufficient enrollment.

Was this by phone? I thought that OPEN enrollment was for your Entire party too! The Homeschool was 1 per one

no, I tried registering online, but it wouldn't let me get past that point. I emailed them, waiting for a response.
