Disney Y.E.S. Program

Any idea if they would allow an older sibling? My DS19 is upset he can not go with them.

When I called to ask about my Dad taking my son to his Y.E.S. class, I was told if the parent is on the trip, the parent must chaperone. If your older son was the guardian for the trip, he would be allowed. It doesn't hurt to call and ask, though!

Anyone doing the Animation Magic class 8/23/12? I am excited to do this, I think this is a great opportunity for the kids. I wish it was in the afternoon, but you can't everything. It seems like a lot of these classes are like a special tour, without the high price tagpixiedust: I really feel lucky that we were able to get in and I know it will be a special memory for us.:goodvibes

My DH and DD13 are taking the class on the 23rd. There are two age classes, though, and we are in the older one. My dd is so excited and I think DH will love it too. He loves to draw and both of them do the animation sketching class numerous times at DHS on each trip.

Got my email confirmation today for my DD14 and DNeice12s Making Waves class on Aug 6! :cool1:

Dear Minnie55555,
*Please bring this confirmation with you to your program and present it to your facilitator for program check-in.
We look forward to having your family participate in the Disney Youth Education Series at the Walt Disney World Resort! We hope that your Disney Youth Education Series program(s) will be an educational experience your family will treasure for a lifetime!
The following information confirms the date(s), time(s), program(s), meeting location and number of participants:

· Date &Time: August 6 at 8:30 AM
***Guests arriving after the scheduled program start time will not be able to join the program in progress, please allow enough travel time to reach your program meeting location

· Program: Making Waves ages 12 to 15 yrs

· Meeting Location: Epcot Main Entrance Flagpole
***You must provide your own transportation to the programs starting before 8am

· # of Children: 2
***Children not age appropriate to attend this scheduled program may not attend the program with the group, including infants

· # of Adults: 1

Call them and ask if the 19 yr. old can be the child's chaperone. I don't know if there is an age requirement for the person that accompanies the student.

Thanks I'm going to try. Funny thing is my DD24 wants to go too

My apologies if this has been asked before. I've read through pages and pages of this thread and i'm still confused. :)

My question is:

1. Our kids are 11, 8, and 3. Only the 8 year old wants to do the class. Will we still get the YES price for all five of us? (mom, dad, all 3 kids?)

Thanks!

VP

Yes. Our family of 5 all got tickets. The YES program doesn't allow the number of adults (18 and over) to outnumber the number of children. In your case, all 5 can get the YES tix.

No, but my two will be in Making Waves on August 20th. Has anyone else's children taken this class -wondering if they enjoyed it.

My sons are both taking this one too. I have one in the older class and one in the younger class.

So I just got off the phone with Dave & upgraded to premium tics:cool1:but he did say mini golf is not included. I thought I read here that it is before 4:00:sad2:Also if anyone is thinking of upgrading, he needs at least 2 weeks before the arrival date to do it. I also asked about my DS19 attending the program. He said it was no problem & changed my DH's name from the attending adult to my DS:yay:I can't wait to tell him tonight!

The "premium" option does not offer all the same things that the Water Parks Fun & More option does on a MYW ticket. I believe it can be used only at the water parks and DQ.

We checked in on 7/19 for my DD's class at Epcot. There was another girl approx. 11 years old. The mother was there, but indicated that she was suffering from severe heat rash on her legs and wondered if the brother's girlfriend (who was about 19) could go in her place. Disney had absolutely no problem with it.

What are premium tickets? I am kicking myself for not getting the water park tickets now. We just went with basic.

I just checked my receipt for our YES tickets. It says they can be picked up on the date of the program in October. But we are arriving a few days before then and need to use them for our park entrances. Do I need to call and get the pick up date changed?

We leave in 26 days and I have our DS signed up for the Ocean Discoveries class. We have 4 day hopper/water park and more tickets. I am FREAKING out thinking somehow I screwed something up or am forgetting something...

Where can the tickets be picked up again? Is there a place at Downtown Disney to do so? I'd like to have them ready for our first park day???

What date is your class? We're going to the one on the 22nd...

Can anyone answer this for me?

We almost always use the YES program but we always go WITH a group already formed.

This year our dates don't match up with the group we typically go with so we will have to get YES tickets on our own BUT, I am looking at the YES website and there are no programs for the dates we are going! :(

We are going the week of November 5-10.

Any suggestions or am I missing something?

Thank you,

Dawn

Classes are offered in January, February, June, July, August, September and October.

I do see when they are offered. Normally we attach to a group in November that goes. However, this year that group has decided to go in December instead and we can't do those dates.

I just was curious if anyone had another idea for us, maybe another group going then we can attach ourselves to or something.

I picked up our yes tickets in DTD guest relations. It was a very easy and quick transaction. We received our 8 day PH with 8 options and were allowed to use mina golf as one of our options and the tickets were good for 7 days after our departure date.

DH & DS are going to play mini golf whether they are included or not so I'm going to try & have them use the options. I'll let everyone know when we get back how it goes.

As I understand it, the groups are organized groups-- like Boy Scouts or class trips. I'm pretty sure that you can't pull together a group of friends and form your own group.
