Disney Y.E.S. Program

We are all registered but they didn't have the photography class available when we signed up. Now I would like to add that class (and pay for it) for my son. Has anyone been able to do that? Thanks

Ok, just answering my own question. I was able to reach Dave, fabulous Dave! He was happy to enroll both my son and myself in the Captivating Images class. He was going to charge $28 for each of us, but when I told him that I wasn't going to the Energy class, he unenrolled me from that one so we only had to pay one $28 fee. Woo Hoo! I love being a chaperone and getting to tag along on this class. Hope my 16 year old won't be too embarrased!

My 17 yr old daughter will be attending a 715am class at MK. We must drop her off at the Ttc but then we can't enter park ourselves until rope drop... Or at least that's my understanding. Has anyone had a class this early? If so, what did the others do while the kids attended the class? Is it possible to get/keep the kid's tickets so you could secure a fastpass for them (to be used after class) while they are still in their class? Just trying to figure out some possibilities...

We did a class at 7:15 Monday. We dropped the boys off at the TTC, then took the resort monorail over. We had an 8:20 reservation at Crystal Palace and were able to get in at 7:45. We waited for the group(s) to come over and then stood by the turnsyle when they went through to get their tickets. We just made sure the fastpasses we got would be good when they got out of the class.

Hello everyone! We are heading down in a few weeks for the YES program class offered at Epcot. Classes meet at 8:30 am in front of the flagpole at Epcot. Do the resort buses run early to accommodate character breakfast at Epcot? I would prefer to not take a taxi if possible :) but I will if it will get me there on time!

Nice! I hope your son gets to take it! How old is he? My husband would be happy to learn that other Steeler fans are in the group ;) I'll be hanging with my younger daughter at Epcot that morning, too princess:

DS#2 is 10. He is so excited about this class! I called this morning and spoke with Dave (super nice guy!) and was able to add myself and DS#2 to the class on the 15th. We will see your DH & DS there (maybe even you and your DD too if you make it over!)

For anyone who is interested in next summer, I asked Dave about classes for next June and he said that the summer schedule should go live in mid-late February :)

Now that 2013 rates have been published we are trying to set our dates and get things rolling. I really want to kids to be able to take a YES class our next trip so we are looking at October 2013.
When I printed the class catalog in January for this year it had Registration cooming soon for the Oct classes. Does anyone know when I should be ready to sign my kids up? I really do not want to miss out on enrolling them is trip.

I know that traditionally there have not been classes in Nov for Individual Enrollment but when I called to see if they might be extended I was told to check back in August. Do you think this person was just trying to let me down easy or will the program be extended due to popularity. Disneyland has classes available up to the end of the year.

I wouldn't count on it. Disneyland has had classes year round for all three years I have done the YES program. I don't think that means Disney World will follow suit.

It has been a few years since we did the YES program but the last time we did we were a party of 4, now a party of 5 but still only needing 4 tickets as the youngest is under 3. So mom, dad, 2 kids and infant. If I enroll oldest DD in a class can I still purchase tickets for the 4 of us? I know there had been some confusion before so I am hoping that is all worked out now.:confused3
Thanks!

Yes. We did this just recently.

Keep in mind that you should put everyone's name on the registration form (the first one), and then when you select the course, you'd choose who is actually attending.

I have to brag on Dave! He was so accommodating this morning. I called to see if we could upgrade our Oct YES tickets to include the water parks, and he made it happen! :)

i'm sorry to be a bother..but I'm a tad confused. We have a party of 6. me, dbf, ds7, grandma, brother18, and brother's gf 16. can me, dh, and ds do one class and get tix and the other three do another class and get tix?

Only one adult is allowed per child, in the actual class. You can get tickets for two parents per child. So, your DS7 could sign up for a class. You and your BF could get tickets, but only one of you could attend the class with your DS.

GF could sign up for a class. I think grandma and brother could get tickets along with her, if they were listed as the adults on the registration form. They would not be permitted to attend the class with her though. She would attend alone.

Technically I *think* the tickets are supposed to go to immediate family. I'm not sure if grandma and brother would be considered immediate family. They are the adults taking her on the trip though, so IMO they qualify as her guardians for that trip. The registration form does not ask for the relationship though, at least it didn't when I registered.

ETA: You'd want to register separately...you, DS, and BF on one registration...grandma, brother and GF on another.

Thanks for the suggestion... We are essentially copying you now! My next (and hopefully last) question for you is whether or not you had to get back out to the TTC by 1015 to pickup the students after the class or were any of them dismissed within MK because so may families are probably around there? I'd certainly rather stay in the park if I have that option.

They told us the class would end by Big Thunder Mountain at 10:15, but my son texted me before that to let me know they were done. They let him go without us being there(they are 17)

My DS has a class @DHS on July 30 we got info saying me @7:45am by the flags, does anyone know how long the classes are? I'm afraid he'll miss out on signing up for the Jedi Training Academy because he has to be present to sign up.

The classes are normally 3 hours.

I've never heard of this program until I found Dis Boards! Anyway I was looking at pricing as my daughter will have just turned 5 before we go and I just assumed this was offered year round. Is it offered in March, April or May? It's just a HUGE savings on the tickets $577 compared to $962 with Undercover Tourist.
