hello,

I have just found this forum and think it is wonderful. My family and I have had two disney holidays so far, disneyland paris in 2004 as complete novices and orlando in 2005, where we were much more prepared! We are now planning to do Disneyland Paris again, and would love to go Christmas 2006, but I need some help! First, does anyone know when the brochures etc, come out with the Xmas prices etc. in? Secondly does anyone have any experience of staying at the Davy Crockett Ranch over Xmas? And third, can anyone recommend a good character dining experience for Xmas day - and do you have to book months in advance like you do for orlando?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

We love DCR; although have not stayed at Christmas time. I imagine it would be very Christmassy and would love to stay there at that time of year.

I received a Cresta brochure in the post today which goes up to end December 2006. I think Disney's own brochure that covers the Christmas period comes out about June time.

And third, can anyone recommend a good character dining experience for Xmas day - and do you have to book months in advance like you do for orlando?

We have just been for Christmas and felt a character meal on Christmas Day was a must-do! There was a Merry Christmas Lunch at the Steakhouse in the Village and a character evening buffet at the Hotel New York. However, they also had exorbitant prices so we opted for the normal character lunch at the Lucky Nugget in Frontierland and paid the usual price of 30 euros adult/15 child. Although it was just the usual buffet, there were Christmas decorations up, there were crackers on the tables, and they were serving Christmas cocktails. We had a fantastic time! If you would find it too boring reading all my trip reports, here is the one for Christmas Day. You can book meals up to 60 days in advance on 00 33 1 60 30 40 50. However, I think if you want to book one of the special Christmas meals, you have to do it at the time of booking.

We absolutely loved being at Disney for Christmas, it really was magical.

Thanks for the advice Ware Bears. The Lucky Nugget sounds fine for us as it is the character dining experience which is important really rather than the food - I think it will make the kids day I have just read your report and looked at your lovely pictures it makes it seem so much more real than just looking at a brochure. Saying that, I am just going on to Cresta website to see if I can order the christmas one - I want to get it booked!

I don't know if Cafe Mickey has the exorbitant-high-prices on Christmas day, but otherwise that could also be a nice place to have breakfast/lunch/dinner at!
