You could get the bags of styrofoam balls at AC's or Michael's & take 2 smaller balls (as the ears) attach to the larger ball (the head) use toothpicks to stick one into the other but for stability add a bit of hot glue to keep them from coming apart- let the kids spray paint or just paint them different glittery colors and attach to the wreath- for Minnie ones add a small red bow to the top of the head
also usually at AC's or Michael's you can get Mickey head plastic beads- let them string beads in a pattern- every so many Mickey head beads- add a gold larger bead or whatever you find out there that would be a nice Christmassy touch- Use that as the garland for the wreath-
These ideas can be used also for a Mini Class Christmas tree
Oh & to make the wreath- either go traditional- one large circular wreath or either do as a pp mentioned but you can also get the smaller wreaths and attach to a larger one so the wreath is a Mickey Head- already made greenery- no need to bend your own hangers
If you do, use the thinner white ones- easier to bend- & you can make the wreath with garbage bags- they sell various colors in the dollar tree as well as I believe Wal-mart -bags come in diff colors... pink, purple, lt blue, white, etc- or just use the green bags or black bags - also if going white... use the bags from Wal-mart, food lion, etc (great recycle project)the kids cut strips from the bags - about 12 in strips (do not have to be perfect which is the best for kindergarteners) double the strip and tie onto the hangers- it can be as full as they have garbage bag strips- Our DD did this in her class one year and did it all on her own- using white bags and the kids attached red bows (just another idea for anyone who has young kids)
The beauty is that tyhis is an all weather wreath since it is made from garbage bags- can be used outside on garage, car or porch depending on the decorations you use for the wreath itself would depend on if they could keep outside in all weather - a very easy craft for young ones though-
Good Luck in your decorating! Post a pic & let us see
