Disney world tickets on ebay

Hey everyone

I was looking for disney world tickets on ebay as i thought i could get a little deal compared to paying full price when we arrive.

Well the funny thing is most of the tickets are selling for higher or very close to then what they would cost at the gate!

I am looking at the gate prices and then looking at ended auctions for the same things and most are selling higher on ebay - at least the ones i want (4 -1 day 1 park).

Am i missing something? Are the parks very busy in July where paying extra to have your ticket in hand is worth it rather then wait in line?

some examples are 4 one day 1 park 3 adult 1 child is $288 at gate sold on ebay for $400, $305, $303, $279, $300, $250 was the cheapest.

Well, I would not go through ebay. You don't know if those tickets actually have any (or all of the) days on them. There are other, more reputable ticket resellers (check Mousesavers dot com for some suggestions) as for the prices, it's supply and demand - and people want to turn a profit.

to the DIS! I would not advise buying Disney tickets on ebay. If the tickets are unused, they may legally be sold or transferred. If they have been used or partially used, they cannot be sold. Unfortunately, you can't tell by looking at them if they have been used or not. Tickets also expire 14 days from first use unless the no-expiration option is chosen (it will say no expiration on the back of the ticket). Disney will not help you if you show up with used tickets and say you bought them on ebay.

Check out these sources for tickets:

Mousesavers.com lists current ticket prices with tax. Disney's website does not list tax, although you are charged tax at checkout.

If you sign up for the mousesavers.com newsletter that comes out on the 15th of each month, there is a link to Undercover Tourist. You can buy from UT directly, but the mousesavers link saves you a few more dollars per ticket. We have used UT several times - they are legit and offer good discounts over Disney prices.

Maple Leaf Tickets is recommended by allears.net. Another legit ticket broker.

Orlando Fun Tickets sponsors mouseplanet.com. Also legit.

AAA offers discounts on multi-day tickets, if you are a member.

I'd check each of these places - they offer different deals based on which ticket it is. We usually find UT to be cheapest for the tickets we buy (non-expiring park hoppers), but you might find someone else to be less.

we did but some on ebay 2 years ago and they were fine and if i remember correctly we saved about $70.

most of the ebay ads state the expiration date and if they have been used ect .. but how can you be sure right?

We are in Canada so these sites you all mentioned will they be able to be used if you are not in the USA?

I will go have a look and see what i can find.

I just checked undercovertourist.com, and you can choose your currency (US dollars, Canadian dollars, pounds, Euros, Australian dollars). They ship to your house (12 business days to Canada), or you can pick them up in Orlando.

Orlando Fun tickets will allow pick up in Orlando as well. If you are in Canada some companies charge more for shipping.

Undercover tourist ships free to Canada as far as I know.
