Disney is clearly immune to embarrassment. This is how at least half of their rollouts of anything that touches IT go.

I think there is a limited enough number of people doing this that once someone gets in, everyone will get in at the same time. May not be that everyone can get the/a park that they want, but I expect us to all be able to try at the same time.

Honestly Disney could have just made random reservations for people based on their arrival/departure dates and we all know 80%+ would have not even bothered to login and change them.

Now everyone is crashing the system because "DISNEY SAID WE HAVE TO LOGIN AT 7AM TO GET OUR PARK RESERVATIONS!!!!!"

Disney did not say this and that is also the issue

About 5 years ago they gutted their IT department and hired replacement workers from India at much lower salaries. Not saying they had stellar IT to begin with, but I can't imagine that it has helped things.

Yeah, I knew that. I more meant that the higher ups should have fully expected this. And I'm sure they did. They know their IT systems are terrible. Crazy how well Disney+ works and how well the launch of that went. Parks makes them the most money, but I guess they don't care what kind of garbage system they give you once you make your reservation.

I had two tabs waiting it out, one that I navigated to My Plans through the bottom of the screen, and then finally got the menu bar to pop opening a new tab. Smooth sailing from there, other than they haven't pushed the park reservation system live yet.

Had figured if even if the system was top notch, disney fans (being disney fans) would have multiple browsers going at the same time & not help the cause. Sigh

Shouldn’t matter a multi-billion dollar company should have enough bandwidth and be able to foresee all issues before rolling this out, this doesn’t look good for them.

I'm on hold now to modify, and apparently you can't modify resort reservations until the Park Pass System is live.

I have been trying to call, but I just keep getting messages all circuits are busy. I guess I shouldn't bother again until they finally go live. Thanks!

That's a fantastic idea. Seriously, I bet no one thought of that at Disney. There's no way that the parks (well, maybe HS) will sell out with just onsite ressies at least for summer at the Covid-limited capacity. So they could have done what you wrote.

To avoid the “time traveling” issue where MDE shows much earlier dates from 2018 or earlier, make sure your computer does not exceed 88mph when throwing it across the room in frustration this morning.
