Disney World Planning DVD

Hello!
I am just wondering what the Disney World DVD is like?? Is it good to view because you get to see the actual park?? Does it also have the restaurants and hotels in it? As I don't have access to this DVD in Australia, I was thinking of buying it off ebay. Is the DVD worth the money??

Well, if my kids didn't like our DVD so much I'd send mine to you free LOL! IMO it's not very good. It's a LOT of the same info you can get off the WDW website.

The video follows these four people around the parks (one kid likes thrill rides, another likes to sleep all over the place, and there's a couple of perky girls) but the "action" cuts so fast that you don't see much. Also there is almost no mention of any dining, and a brief look at the hotels (they don't even show the room layouts as they have on past videos).

It's fine if it's free, but I'd hate to see you waste money on it, especially considering the shipping costs. Maybe someone else on the boards has one they're using as a frisbee and can send it to you?

My kids love it. Some people get annoyed by the 4 hosts, but the kids enjoy it. The dvd also has some neat extras.

I did not like the new DVD. Now the older VHS my DD (2) carries it EVERYWHERE she goes!!! just HOPING that someone will let her watch it!!!

Can't you get it off the disney site for free? That is how I got mine, it gave me a better idea of the resorts and such.

A word of caution if you plan on sending your dvd to Australia...It's not illegal. But, Australia uses a different format than the US. We are region 1 and Australia is region 2. So the dvd may not work on her player. Also, in the US we us NTSC while Australia may use PAL (which is used in England). So that might affect playability on her dvd player.

I checked the website about this too -- they only send it to US and Canadian addresses. Seems silly doesn't it? They won't even let you watch the streaming video version online unless you enter a US or Canadian address!

But I'm thinking if AussieTink phones directly, maybe she can get it?
