My cousin & I will be going to Disney World the middle of December (without families...just the girls!) Been several times to Disney World but not at Christmas... for those that have been.....what were your highlights? Any suggestions (beside Mickey's Very Merry Christmas...we have those tickets) of what special to look forward to? ::MinnieMo
It's great to be alive......and at Disney World!

Don't miss the Candle Light Possession in Epcot. It is a very meaningful concert. We did the CP package too.

We went to WDW for Christmas last year, and it was great. We loved all the decorations in the parks, and I guess if we had more time we would've checked out the decorations at each hotel as well. I think the Grand Floridian has a life size gingerbread house!!!!!!

Last December Wilderness Lodge hosted a Sleigh Ride event. My husband and I did this during our honeymoon at WDW. Can't remember the price but the ride lasts about 30 minutes. (Families also did the sleigh ride, it's not just for couples!)

Keep in touch with the "Theme Park Stratigies" board for future information.

The Osbourne lights at MGM and the decorations at the resorts.

The BCV har a large 4 horse carousel made from gingerbread and chocolate. It was festive and beautiful.

Shopping at the World Showcase in Epcot - you can always find unique items in the shops, but there are even more at Christmas. I love looking at the Christmas wares and decorations from around the world.

Christmas is the perfect time to resort hop and check out the decorations at the various hotels - particularly the deluxe hotels.

I have been to WDW 6 times during the holidays and in addition to the previously mentioned I would also note a couple of others things worth mentioning.

The nightly lighting of the tree is nice at Epcot. The "Santa’s around the world" at Epcot we found to be very interesting as each country has their version of Santa (father time, Noel, father Christmas, Santa Kurohsu, etc.) dressed in their nations traditional holiday attire and each will talk about their native holiday traditions. The storytelling at Epcot is also great for the young kids. At MGM they have 3d glasses they give out at dusk which make the lights (yellow or white lights) appear to be snowflakes. They also make it snow at MGM on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom during the holiday season.

I am sure there are many more "little things" Disney does but those stand out off the top of my head (as well as the previously mentioned items other listed).

Last year ds then 9 and I went to disney for christmas we had been before but never during the hoildays.
Being from the great white north, days before we were to leave I started having doubts that maybe I wount have the
"Christmas Feeling" and maybe I had picked the wrong time of year to go.
NOT So
Never had I felt so much in the hoilday spirt then being there!
Besides the decorations and the overall effect.
My favorite memory is of DS and I sitting on a blanket on main street with are hoilday hats, mitts and jackets(it was cold out) sipping hot choclate seeing the christmas lites and the snow, hearing the music, waiting for the paradee to start, it still gives me goosebumps when I think of this.
Are we going again, you bet we are allready booked for this christmas.
