As for me, I am happy with the outcome. An extra $.24/hr and another raise next year plus a decent bonus.

Could they have done better? Yeah they could have but at the end of the day at least its something, granted its not much but at least we all have jobs.

Don't get too excited about the bonus, since its a bonus its going to be taxed like crazy.

Yes.


But in the end, your money gets taxed at a pre-set rate by the government. What actually will happen is that your bonus will get over-withheld. So, just means more back to you when you file taxes at the end of the year.

Overall, more money = more money.

I know this is an old thread...but:

1. 24 cents and hour is 500 bucks a year...which is pathetic no matter what you are making. The cost of goods has increased dramatically over the last few years in the areas you can't cut out...notably food, fuel, and utility costs...not to mention education. So this is yet another "organized" embarassment by the nametags

2. I'm sick of the "it will be taxed to heck" stupid rhetoric. First off...its not as if the taxes will amount to much because the amount will be small in in relative terms...second, the lack of a tax base particularly in florida is the prime reason why the state can't make a dent in digging its way out of the mess of the real estate bubble. And the stagnation appears to be as strong as ever from all indications.

3. Yet another example of how Florida never fails to let the common man fall behind while maintaining the cash flow to rich corporations. Nothing ever gets done to bring that state outta the minimum wage service industry quagmire...and as long the wrong politicians are put into place and people honestly thinks that space beings care about the US economy - it never will change.

4. Taxes...for all their evils...might be the only way to save our economy and regain the balance. Our obligations are rising, our spending is not falling contrary to political tricks being pushed on the "media", and we don't have the money to support either of them. And rest assured the rich and powerful are not going to "voluntarily pony up" because they have civic obligation. Because it will never happen.

Hey, I am happy. I knew the pay scale when I started so anything additional is welcomed. I used to make A LOT more, but as with the majority of us I dont work at Magic for the money. But the bonus was nice, and it wasnt taxed all the much.
