When Disney change shows on cruises are there usually hints that it's happening?

The Wonder is on her way Downunder and someone is insisting that the theatre shows aren't the same (unsure where they are getting their information or if they are speculating).

My understanding is they don't change them very often and I've definitely not heard any rumours

Generally, the main (3) shows remain the same, until such time as DCL feels a replacement is needed.

When a ship does a long cruise, they have additional shows that are mostly an individual act or group. On occasion there are some basic musical review-type shows that DCL brings out on occasion for the longer cruises. Those shows utilize the already onboard CMs.

Perhaps whoever is reporting "different" shows hasn't had a long enough cruise before this to be aware of them.

thank you - I'm thinking maybe they are confused with the fact there is a new cast and thought that would mean new show (instead of just a normal rotation change).

Most of the downunder cruises are short (under 5 days and most around 3 or 4 and a few 2 nighters).

We just got off the Hawaiian one last Thursday .

Only had 3 productions . The Golden Mickey’s, Frozen and Dreams. The cast just did a change over during this cruise too.

The other shows were magic, juggler, Haunted Mansion movie. I’m missing one.

Well the most recent cruise would have been the repo cruise, so that's a longer one.

I agree that being told a new cast rotated in might be misunderstood. I'll also point out, even if the show itself is the same, with a different cast the dynamics can be different making it seem like it's a different show.

There's a new Encanto show coming to the Wonder during the Australian/New Zealand season. I'm not sure if they're replacing anything, or if it's an addition.

Most likely a replacement. There's not enough storage space (stage sets, costumes) onboard for more than 3 shows.

Encanto isn't a full production show. It's a small performance with Mirabel and Bruno where they do a little sing a long and a meet and greet after a crafting activity.

The shows are remaining the same for the Down Under as they have been on board for sometime.

Is this a ticketed activity? Or available for everyone?

At the moment, the only ticketed event I’m seeing in the Navigator app is The Royal Gathering - nothing else (eg character breakfast, Frozen meet and greet, etc).

At this time it is not a ticketed event. It is very popular, so I suggest arriving at least 30 minutes prior to the time listed.

No, it's not ticketed currently. It is very popular though so I would recommend arriving at least half an hour before as it is limited space. You craft and then meet the two of them.

On the 5 day cruise, there won't be a character breakfast.
