I am with you! I like being able to go places and do things. No homework or getting up early. Now we have to have a routine everyday.
I'm so lame...I actually enjoy the routine of school! :lmao: Okay well maybe not thoroughly did I enjoy the routine of high school...but I do of college. At least I always know what I will be doing? :confused3 :rotfl:

My mom never got on my case about homework during high school...which might actually be a bad thing! :lmao: Okay maybe not never...but she really didn't make sure that I had it done everyday. I don't think it's a bad thing on her part...it's just I wasn't into school during my high school years so I avoided the subject. :rotfl: I had an alarm clock in high school so waking me up wasn't usually an issue for my mom at the end. Unless of course my alarm clock didn't wake me up...or go off...
My kids all have alarm clocks. BLARING SCREAMING iPods going off for HOURS! The bugle, fife & drum corp could bang in their rooms and they wouldn't wake up! :lmao:

I think the kids do like the routine. It is us mom's that don't like it. My DD never complains. I do all the complaining. :rotfl:

I'm going to go, too. My house is quiet, might as well take advantage and get some sleep. God only knows who'll be up with what problem in the middle of the night. :lmao:

Night all!

That's awesome! I am glad that Conor is interested in taking advantage of the opportunity. He had Algebra Honors last year in 7th grade. He actually begged for the Geometry Honors class that he's in this year. There are kids in 11th grade that aren't on his math level! If he can continue like this he'll have some great opprtunties in his future! I am in awe! It's also wonderful that his school is able to accomodate him with these advanced classes. There is a high population of kids who are in similar situations. It's amazing.

It's sad that you felt that way about dropping out. They really need to cater to the gifted kids as well as the kids with learning issues. There truly is a need for it!

I agree, that is excellent. I got to take Geometry a year before everyone else, too.. but I was technically "in" the high school at that point (9th grade) so it wasn't so fancy schmancy of a big deal.

I took Vocational Classes at an attempt to get out of the school and away from the mind-numbing monotony but even those were a joke to me. I finished them with honors and barely went there, either.

I can't even IMAGINE being that smart. LOL I honestly don't know where my kids get it from. :teeth:

Dang! 26 days total?? Woooww...I only skipped once and it wasn't my fault and it was only one class and it was a half day. Although I did get pulled out for a lot of vacations and hunting for colleges. :teeth:

Haha, yeah they HATED me :rotfl2: They couldn't do much because I was passing and my insomnia being so severe gave me a constant Dr's excuse. If I didnt sleep, I wasn't allowed to drive. I don't live "in" town so I couldn't walk. Soooo even if I slept, I could not go to class and get away with it by saying I hadn't slept.. :rotfl: They couldn't complain too much, either, because I was doing better than most of the students who went.
A lot of my teachers had it out for me because they just didn't understand how I could pass their tests without hearing their lectures. :sad2:

I only went to 76 my junior year, too.. but I had mono that year so was gone the first three months completely.

I think I'd be scared if my alarm clock was ever that loud! Sometimes even mine can startle me at times! :rotfl:

I'm a HUGE iced tea drinker, I sure hope the tea on board is decent!

From post 8387
Barb (inkkognito) asks for tea bags, a pot of water and a glass of ice at dinner--then she brews her own iced tea. Tea bags were available on the deck 9 beverage station last Sept as well as hot water and ice so it might work there too.
