Lisa we used lanyards for our kttw cards last time. I found it very convenient to have it all the time around my neck adn when we would go in our room I would stick it in one of the pockets of the over the door shoe holder. My girls did the same My dh put his in his wallet or pocket or my lanyard.

Oh, we're talking lanyards now... :lmao: Uh, oh, ebay here I come again.

Taeja did you use them last time? I think your whole family will get one when you check in at the terminal as a repeat guest gift plus two pins each

We also wil use DCL lanyards we bought last trip for room keys. Usually, I hold all of the cards if we go to the pool, but sometimes the kids carry their own when they had soda stickers on them.

Sooo.. are Michael and I going to be able to set up seperate accounts even though we'll be in the same stateroom?

Like.. I have credit. He doesn't. So I'll put my Disney Visa down and... he'll put cash. Can we do that, seperate? Or are we going to have to charge everything to my Visa and figure it out later?

We bought them at the snack bar in the terminal I think they were $7 maybe 8 :confused3
The lanyards....do they have a pocket with a zip closure or is it an open pocket that holds the KTTW cards? I was thinking about finding the ones that zip closed so the KTTW card won't fall out and then attaching that pouch thing to the DCL lanyard. Am I making any sense?!? :confused3 :rotfl2:

You are making sense to me. There was pictures of the new lanyards floating around here. If I find it I will post it. :thumbsup2 Oh nevermind. You meant the one's you buy.

Are you kidding me? I need to LEAVE so that I can work at the Renaissance Festival tomorrow (we stay overnight on site) and I'm terrified of what I'll come back to. I haven't caught up for TWO DAYS. Tae Ja, I'm hereby invoking a gag order--no more posts! Let's see, who else is included? Lisa, definitely...aw, heck, you know who you are! No more posts until I catch up!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

WOWZA! I'm gone one and a half days and I'm 22 PAGES behind!

Okay...buckling down to read now...

I am trying to get caught up and am MANY PAGES behind. You have been BUSY for a Saturday! :)

But, I am striking a blow for dressy shoes and voting for COMFORT. :thumbsup2 I had the same diagnosis as DAWN and TALK ABOUT PAIN--I will take surgical recovery over plantar fasciitis any day!

My podiatrist said to find shoes in the right width and with SOFT soles. I found some Mary Jane style shoes with a wedgie heel that I could and do walk in all over downtown Indy :cool1: DANSCO is the brand. EXPENSIVE but WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT. A little powder in the shoe and I can go barefoot in them. They go well with nylons or (with long skirts) knee highs.
He also approved TEVAS and but NOT Dr. Sholls sandals--the wooden sole is TOO HARD.
He is big on NEW BALANCE sneakers as THEY COME IN WIDTHS also but stressed I should buy soft soled ones, like cross trainers or walkers NOT tennis shoes as they have HARD soles. He said to try them on and walk in them a lot in the store to be sure the sole is squishy.

SO--bottom line--no dressy shoes on this cruise for me--I may only bring two pair of tevas and no sneakers even--black tevas for dinner and multi color black-blue-purple for day and pirate night pirate: .
Jan :earsgirl:

Jan, do the Tevas have arch support? I have high arches, and I'd be grateful to be able to find sandals that I could wear.

I have a couple of random questions. What is everyone's opinion on using a lanyard to carry your KTTW card? Do you use them, will we need them? Of course if I'm going to use one, I'd prefer the DCL lanyard to the one from the Walmart fishing dept. :rotfl: I'm assuming that I will be carrying around a bag on board with my cameras and can hold my KTTW in that. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks/does/prefers.

Also, we're pin collectors. We have a huge (heavy) bag. Should we bring the whole bag or just bring an assortment of pins to trade (or skip the pin thing altogether)?

:confused3

We just used pockets last time - or I relied on my husband being around :rotfl: I think this year we may do the lanyard thing. Not sure yet. I was thinking about getting one of those waterproof card holders that are on the little curly elastic (I'm so technical) but have not gotten around to it. Think it would be good for the pool and CC.

I was also trying to decide what to do about the pins.....I wouldn't skip it, I have heard you can get some great finds. I'm thinking of bringing LOTS of traders, and a few of my collection just for fun. Not sure though. :confused3

Patsy, did you do the online check-in? All you have to do is put in your visa info and just check YOUR name. And when he does his check in, he will get his own card. That way, charges to your card go to your account, and his to his, and neither of you are authorized to use the other's card.

I hope that made sense. :confused3

You also have the option for both cards to charge to the same account, which is what we did for our room. Obviously DH does not know how much I intend to spend on pins..... :lmao:

I have a friend who's a frequent (lucky) DCL cruiser. She brought us back some dryboxes from Castaway Cay so I'll have those for our beach/pool time.

I think I'll probably do the same with the pins, bring a bunch of trading pins and leave the big book home. Sometimes though, it's hard to remember which pins we already have, and which we need/want. Maybe I'll take some pix of our pins and pack those. :rotfl: Goofy idea but practical. ;)

I do SO want to do that. I would even be on litter-pick-up detail--wear the white jumpsuit and the whole bit. I tell people that when I grow up I am going to work at Disney World. Especially the teenagers LOOK at me funny since I am 57, they think I AM grown up :confused3 Go figure!
I would do :laundy:for the CMs costumes.
or:drive:a bus
or :artist: scenery
I could even sell popcorn::
On evals I tell WDW that the Fairy God Mother and other "older" "heavier" characters should be cast by people who fit the demographic, not a young kid in a fat suit--skinny legs hanging out of a plump costume do not cut it. They are getting better at it but I could try something like that perhaps. (who said that??me?? the one who is on the edge of embarrassed in a pirate costume???)
DH would like to :sail: pilot the small boats on BAY LAKE
Jan :earsgirl:

Jan, I'm totally with you on that one! I told my hubby that when the kids are grown, we'll move to CA for a while so he can pursue his dream of acting, and I'll work at DL. He thinks I'm joking! And I completely agree about the Fairy Godmother. They probably think that "older" "heavier" women can't take the strain of the job, but that's just ridiculous. I mean, I've walked the parade route at the Renaissance Festival in Colorado (our Renaissance Festival is on the side of a mountain) in a velvet royal court dress in the hot summer sun, and I am NOT the only "heavy" woman on court. I'll grant that our temperatures don't usually get above the low 90's, but come on, DL is all flat! :rotfl: I could so totally do that!
