Disney Wonder potentially sailing from Seattle this summer???

If the Wonder does go to Alaska this year, it will need to get on the west coast first. I wonder when and how it will get there? Will they offer a WBPC? with passengers? Will they stop in San Diego? When will they go from San Diego to Seattle? Will they still offer the Hawaii cruises? or just go straight to Seattle and start Alaska cruises? Will the Mexican Riviera cruises be offered again? Will the EBPC go as scheduled? I have a ton of questions.

There is currently a limit on how long cruises can be of 7 nights, so no WBPC.
San Diego's port calendar does not currently list any cruise ships docking until September.
Long Hawaii cruises are a no-go for the same reason as a PC
Disney appears to have arranged for port space in Seattle. Whether they can the Wonder to the west coast and get crewed up, remains to be seen. This will determine any Mexican Riviera cruises.
The current length of cruise limit will have to be lifted for her to sail the EBPC with guests

The limit of 7N cruises ends with the end of the no sail order. The current 14N EBPC is still available on the DCL website. That should go, assuming the Wonder is on the west coast.

The May 2022 HI cruises are after the expiry of the no sail order, and after the end date of the Canadian cruise ship ban. I see no problem with these going.

I just got my Concierge email for our October MX Riveria cruise departing Oct 1st. It seems they are at least trying to make that happen.

well, I guess we’ll just have to see what happens when they actually do start sailing again. I’m not sure cruise lines are going to want to take a chance on long cruises with multiple days at sea when it appears under the current order they would be required to port upon reaching a certain level of infection. Would they need to be able to show that they could make port in a certain amount of time no matter where they were during the cruise? Disney has continued to sell cruises that they must have been sure wouldn’t actually sail this whole time, so I’m not sure that the EBPC still being available is necessarily a sign that it will sail. Of course, everything is predicated on them deciding to sail the Wonder empty through the canal to start with.

We’re on the Oct 1 as well. Glad to hear you got the email as expected!

Not sure that reflects likelihood so much as it reflects "if not cancelled, apply standard process." Better to book folks then cancel than to scramble and have issues keeping concierge priority if things look promising.

Right now, I think the big hangup for Alaska is that DCL hasn't filed any test cruise plans, and under the wording of CDC guidance that test cruise would have to be from Seattle for the AK voyages - in other words, they'd have to get the Wonder there AND staffed AND then do the test cruise.

Otherwise, they would have to follow the 95% vaccination rule, and it's still not clear how that applies with children under 12, especially in light of recommendations that the unvaccinated mask up. I have a hard time imagining DCL limiting the under-12s to less than 4% of total passenger load, and also enforcing masks on children only. As current guidance reads, when applied to a line like DCL with its higher volume of youth, gets super weird super quick. Even if it's 95% of "eligible," which would exclude kids from the vax percentage requirement, how the whole "masks for the unvax" would apply in that scenario... weird, awkward, weird.

I think you are right. Unless and until they officially cancel it they will follow SOP. But in the email and in responses to my questions they are certainly mentioning covid restrictions. As an example, there are no Meet and Greets, and as of now, no Character Breakfast. All the tastings are grouped on the two sea days, as opposed to being spread out.

I think, if they can figure out vaccination requirements, the AK cruises will happen out of Seattle. There's a reason the Wonder canceled only through 7/12 vs. all of July. And, other cruise lines have already confirmed their AK sailings to boot. Disney won't want to miss out on too much of that opportunity.

Other lines sailing from Seattle are requiring vaccination, which means no test cruises.

That really is a barrier for a line with as many kids as show on DCL.
