Sarah (and group)...

I should also mention/remind everyone that we will be making/having color coded maps for everyone. When I create the groups I will color code them (and color code them by group on the website also); then, we will make a map using the ship's deck plans and color code it too. This will give everyone a color coded map of where your groups cabins are located on the ship. You can use that map to find your group-mates and leave them gifts or notes as you please! :woohoo:

Additionally, I should also mention that part of the reason we're splitting the list is because it takes a lot of time to deliver your gifts if there are too many people. This way it will be fun, but not take too much time from your personal day and plans. Could you imagine delivery gifts to 75 - 100 people?!?!? :rotfl2:

Oh yeah --- also -- we will be meeting on the first day (the day we board the ship). Ryan and I (and hopefully many, many others) will be in the prommenade lounge between 2:30 and 3:20 the day of boarding. Everyone is welcome to meet us there, pick up your map for your FE group, and pick up your lanyard/bracelet IF we decide as a group to do them! This hour will also give us a chance to meet face to face so we recognize each other throughout the ship. :yay: 3:30 will be the safety drill, and then 4:00 is the sail away party! :woohoo:

P.S. I messed up, it's not San Francisco...it's Sacramento. :rolleyes1

On the downside of all of this --- don't know what I would do about school if we moved. That would be tricky! I could make it work though! :) :thumbsup2

There are LOTS of schooling options in and around Sacramento! And Sacramento puts you right in the middle of things with lots of housing options. A friend of mine just moved from Rocklin, just outside of Sac. She loved the neighborhoods but she just couldn't find a job anywhere. But if Ryan already has a job...well we won't go there. I'm sure you guys will be fine no matter where you go. :wizard: even if you stay where you are.

BTW, thank you for the width on the FE. I had remembered seeing it somewhere but couldn't find it. :confused3 Just like a lot of things on this DIS board. So much information, so little time to search through it. :worship:

We are all so helpful with each other. I hope everyone feels welcome here in our little group. I have seen threads before where I felt uncomfortable just being there reading. Our group does a great job of making me feel like this: :grouphug:

As far as the FE in the picture, I have seen that particular one on E-Bay. In fact that design with Pooh & Friends was the one I was thinking about buying, as it is the cheapest by far. I do love the custom ones like the one Jessica has referred us to on our group website. But I think I will attempt to make one all by my little lonesome. I just hope it all stays together and I don't have to hang a plastic bag outside our door.

Off to work for me. I hope everyone is staying cool. These are the days I am so glad we live where we do. :hippie:

Later,
Sue

:rotfl: You're so funny Sue! :rotfl: A plastic bag? That's great! At least you know you would be able to get a Disney themed plastic bag if you buy something in the shop! :lmao:

The bummer about moving would not be that I couldn't find a university, the problem would be that I have a specific schedule this semester and next semester if I am to transfer to university next semester. If we move now I will have to drop 2 of my on-site classes - meaning, I would no longer be on track for university next year. It doesn't matter though, it will all work out as it is supposed to! :teacher:

I also agree with you on our group, I think we're great! :grouphug:

Hi Everyone,

The survey for our group logo is officially closed! Thank you to everyone who voted. :flower3:

First I'd like to say that there was one request to have pluto added to option 3 or 4. I played around with it and this would be possible, but not enough people were voting for it and it would take me quite a while to do. Therefore, if anyone voted for something OTHER THAN #3 or #4 and would like to change your vote knowing that Pluto can be added, please let me know. If enough people want to change their vote then I can re-post a new survey or simply re-announce that enough people wanted to change that #3 or #4 won. Otherwise, it looks like #1 is the winner! Honestly, I will admit that I was puzzled by this because the verbal votes prior to the survey had #3 and #4 winning :confused3. Anyway - it is what is is and unless anyone wants to change because of pluto being added, then we have our winner!

I will give it a day or two to see if anyone emails me to change. Then, I will clean up the winning graphic as best I can to make it as perfect as possible, and then I will give everyone links to a large version (for t-shirts or any items you may wish to use it for), and a small version in case you want to post the image in your signature (like Ryan has). If anyone else would like a version of any of the other's sent to you (because you'd like to do or make something with any of the other versions), then please don't hesitate to ask. Either Ryan or I will be happy to email you what you need :thumbsup2

Jessica

As it currently stands, this is the winner:

Just popping in quickly to say hi to everyone. We are in the beginning of a whirlwind trip to see family and friends. We drove ~5 hours to see my sister this weekend. This morning we flew out of San Jose and are in a hotel in Austin, TX tonight. We just had some BBQ and ice cream with some great friends we met on a Disney cruise five years ago. Tomorrow's schedule will depend on the heat (we are such coastal sissies) but then we are driving on to eastern TX to visit Amy's dad for the rest of the week. After we fly back to CA, we are spending the night with my mom and then on to a couple of days of training for work before heading home.

My internet availability will be a bit limited the rest of the week but I'll check as often as I can.

Take care everyone!

I hope you all have LOADS of fun! Be safe, drive safe, and stay cool!

Steve: Safe travels; have fun with your friends. I, myself, just flew out of San Jose as I was up there at a conference.

Jessica: Thanks for everything you're doing. The group logo looks great, although I'll admit my wife doesn't get our groups excitement over all of this especially this far out; however, she's also the first to admit that we've benefited greatly from these boards and others on past cruises.

As for the possible school switch, can you finish up the semester/year with online classes? Are you following a traditional GE track? If so, I don't think the disruption will be nearly as bad as you might think.

Kris

So you guys are in San Jose & don't even bother to call??? :lmao:
If anyone is around here this weekend....it is Garlic Festival weekend! :cool1:

Off to bed for now.

Mine was a quick in/out trip. I didn't even get up to San Mateo to see my friend who was the best man at my wedding. However, we did see him over Memorial Day and passed through Gilroy, but that was before I was participating in this board. I like cutting through Gilroy better than going the other route to the 5 - more scenic and seems faster. If we make it up there over Labor Day, I'll let you know :)

I have a question for everyone:
What is the one thing you HAVE to do on board this January? Not an excursion but something on the ship.
Have you read about something? Do you have a link that tells us more?popcorn::
Did you do something when you were on the Wonder before? Tell us about it! :dance3:
Did someone you know experience something when they were on the Wonder? Share!:woohoo:
What is that ONE thing you HAVE TO DO????:yay:
I am reading all I can, I am disappointed that Pass Porters will not be getting out a new book with info in it. I am getting antsy about wanting to know what there is on the Wonder, as I have only been on one Disney cruise & that was on the Magic.
OH! and if your kids have something they HAVE TO DO, let me know that too!
I don't care if you answer today tomorrow or a month from now, tell me, tell me! I'll be waiting :surfweb:

Have to do brunch at Palos and eat breakfast/lunch it the main DRs at least once. Margarita tastings!!!

There a lot more I want to do again, but these standout as I didn't do them last time around.

An interesting thread on the main boards: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=37462853&posted=1#post37462853

If you log into the DCL website and look at your "Cruise Plans," it appears that only Cabo is listed as a port stop. Some have reported other ports not showing on the Panama Canal cruise as well.

There's a lot of speculation in the thread, although I think it simply has to do with arranging excursions and port space, especially given the number of ships sailing the MR next year. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up switching Mazatlan and PV if necessary or going back to stopping at Cabo first as it seems most of the MR cruises start with two sea days and then PV before heading back up.

This happened a few months ago with Cabo not being on the list, it was back a few days later. I think people are upset over nothing. If you look at booking a cruise the list has all three stops on it.

I personally would like to stop at Cabo first, that way we could stay longer. We have been to Mazatlan and like Cabo more. We are excited about PV.

Any guesses to which night they wil have the Pirate Party?

If the itinerary doesn't change, I'm guessing Cabo night since we leave port early that day.

Anyone else have a guess? Has anyone reviewed the old Navigators?

Edit: I just looked at the 2008 Navigators for the MR and the Pirate Party was held on the first port night, Puerto Vallarta. I thought this was an odd choice given that the party was scheduled to begin as the Magic was scheduled to depart (both at 9:45 p.m. according to the Navigators that I viewed). However, when I saw the Magic sail from Puerto Vallarta in July 2008, it left closer to 7 p.m. (Make that 8:15 p.m. - I just found the picture). See the photos below. (BTW, this was torture to see this from our hotel room the first night we were there since I'm such a cruise fan and had always wanted to try a Disney cruise at the time. These were actually the first pictures I took of our trip).

Photos won't post, so here are the links:

I just saw your question to Mazatlan Frank about fishing in Mazatlan. Dave and I plan on booking a fishing trip with Frank when we go. We would be up for getting a group together to save money. Fishing for 6 people would be around $300.00 so if we could get 6 people it would be a cheap trip. Let me know if you guys want to go in with us.:cool1: If not it's cool.

Evening everyone. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents out there; please don't beat me up for what I'm about to say though. :rolleyes1

First, the itinerary page when you actually choose the sailing like you're going to book it still has the itinerary exactly as it was when we booked - so I don't know what everyone is so concerned about.

Secondly, does it really matter where we stop or what order we stop in? Truth is that Disney has the right to change or cancel any stop for any reason - with no compensation to the travelers. It is what it is. Why worry and get all riled up about something that doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the long run? It's nothing that we can control, so why worry about it?

Sorry to be so cold on the subject, I just don't see what all the hubub is about.

Personally, I could careless about where the ship goes. As long as it sails, I'm good (DW will get a little stir crazy, but the spa can fix that). After all, you and I are both taking a cruise to nowhere.

Kris

P.S. This board was lonely the past couple of days. I'm trying to get my fix now as I'm headed to Cabo for a week on Wednesday (another reason I'm careless about where the ship goes). Any requests?

:rotfl: I gues that would explain why I don't care; I too am more interested in the cruise itself than the ports.

That sounds like fun! You should gather some possible activity information while you're there and bring it back to share with us! ;)
