Hey gang, we're back. We survived three nights in a small, beat-up tent trailer with a hyper kid. We actually had a great time but are happy to be home to our own beds!
It looks like I've got some catching up to do...
Karen - We are just a few miles north of Arcata in McKinleyville but we work in Arcata and Eureka. I just sent you a Friend request in FB.
I'm surprised about the cruise filling up so quickly. I searched again and there are quite a few Cat 9 and above rooms for 2 adults and up to 1 child but any more than that is sold out. Disney cruises are usually so expensive (especially the third and fourth passenger fees) but this deal makes them very competitive for Mexico cruises.
Yanira - Thanks for the FB link info. I just created my account. It's
www.facebook.com\airtime247 if anyone wants to find me.
Jessica - Great job getting on those rides! Hopefully your scary space adventure wasn't just Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters!

You may not be ziplining in PV by January but that is great progress.
I'm a spreadsheet junkie too. I've created them for nearly everything!
Yes, on the 14-night cruises, there are a lot more days at sea so there is a ton of time to do all the extra activities. There also tends to be a lot more DISers willing to participate.
I'd hate to see a cap on FE cabins. I think we had over 50 on our 14-night westbound Panama Canal cruise. Granted, we couldn't afford to give as nice of gifts to everyone because of the number of people but the gifts I came home with filled a Rubbermaid bin.
We did the PJ breakfast and it was a blast. We had 30-40 people. I think if you only had one table, you would probably get looked at like you were freaks but a large group made it very festive. I'd definitely do it again.
We have done lanyards and wristbands. The wristbands were very cheap but also very hard to see. The lanyards were very visible. I have looked into those before but they are nearly impossible to find customized in quantities under 100. If we ever went with lanyards, we can always just get blank lime green lanyards and make custom cards to put in the badge holder area. I'll see if I have any pictures of how the wristbands turned out but here is a picture of the lanyard that our group made:
I think buttons would be a good, cheap option that would be highly visible. If someone doesn't want to put holes in their clothes, they can always pin one to a lanyard, pouch, or whatever they decide that would help it stand out.
Cathy - We've only stayed in a regular room at the Grand Californian. It was using DVC points before they built the new rooms there. We have a studio booked for September but it looks like we are out of luck for January. I guess we are staying with the MIL!
I saw the VGC 1BR model near the
Disneyland Hotel before construction. I don't know how close the finished product turned out but the model looked amazing.
mketting - Good luck with your decision. I have nothing to go by for advice other than to say I'd feel a lot more safe letting my teenager run around a ship than the parks. You know your daughter better than anyone. As long as she knows to only stay in public areas already cleared by you and not go to any new friends' cabins or anything.
Boutit - Welcome!
