Disney WONDER - Alaska: June 20-27, 2016

OK. I have my 10 test posts done. Let me know when you have yours done and I will add you to the conversation about fish extenders for our cruise. Looking forward to adding everyone who is interested. Thanks!

Thank you for taking this up! I had previously posted that we would participate. Let me know if you need our info again

This is a thread is awful quiet. No one is excited to go? Only 35 days to go!!

I was thinking the same thing!! We're super excited! We have all our port excursions booked & just received our booklets...the count down is on!!

Has everyone on this cruise already received their travel booklet? I have not. Help!

We only just received ours a week or so ago. Hopefully you'll have yours too now. I bet you could call Disney though...

We have just booked for this cruise as well and are sooo looking forward to it ! New to DISBoards but second Disney cruise for us. It will be just my wife and I on our first trip to Alaska. :) Does anyone have any tips on any of the shore excursions on offer ?

We are booked for this cruise as well! SO excited!!! First cruise EVER for us! How fantastic that we have such an awesome destination on an amazing cruise line to look forward to! :)

It will be me, my two kids (who will be 10 and 12 next summer), and my mom. Looking forward to meeting some fellow DISers on board and maybe getting a Fish Extender Exchange going for our group. Yay!
I'm getting really excited about our upcoming cruise! I guess it's time to start thinking about renewing my passport! We are all going to have an amazing time next summer.

If y'all are interested in a fish extender exchange, I would be happy to be the point person and coordinate this for our group. Could anyone who wants to participate please reply to this thread and share how many are in your party (with # or adults and # of kids)? If you'd rather let me know via private message, that's fine, too :)

Is it too late to participate in the fish extender group? I just heard about it...

My husband and I did this cruise for our 15th anniversary five years ago with just the two of us... we found for the excursions that there was plenty we could do on our own for far less than booking through the Port Excursions... for example, we spent about 1/3 of the cost in Skagway to take the train ride and the only difference was we walked about 1/4 mile to the train station. That being said, this time around we are bringing my mother in law and my kids, so we did book a Port Excursion in Skagway.

As for the Port Adventures, my daughter, best friend, and I went on a Disney Baltic cruise last summer and we did shore excursions at most of the ports because we were not sure what it would be like and it was out of the country. We enjoyed them and they provided excellent service. On one of our excursions, a photographer from the ship accompanied us and was there to take pictures of anyone throughout the day. We ended up getting the entire photo package from the trip and I love having the pictures of the three of us together.

Be sure to take advantage of the "Adult Only" areas of the ship.

Oh... also, it was really easy to get around in Ketchikan as it was small and close to the port. There were lots of shops, a museum, and scenery. I am sure there was more to do if you wanted to venture farther, but we just enjoyed walking around the shops and the museum. Getting around Juneau took more effort because it was more spread out. Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau was beautiful.

Well guys, time is getting short and it looks like karmacat has gotten busy or had something else come up. I will be happy to try to get things organized and then I can turn it over to her when she is able to get back online. I'm not exactly sure what to do but I will start compiling a list from what people have listed so far and post it. Let me know any ideas or suggestions you all have. I'm so excited to participate in this part of our cruise. Please post that you want to join the fish extender group and I will add you to the private conversation. Then you won't have to put all that information on the public forum. :dog2:

I just found out about fish extenders... is it too late to participate? I did not see any post that said it was closed... there are 5 of us: me, my husband, my mother-in-law, and my two kids (16 m, 14, f)

I am counting down the days... :)

I was thinking about putting together a photo scavenger hunt for my kids for while we are on the cruise, such as "find a picture of Walt and Lillian" or "find a hidden Mickey in the carpet." Does anyone have any recommendations to put on my list?

We're booked for Alaska! This will be our 3rd cruise, 1st Alaskan one. We're excited! Going with DH, DS15, DD 11, and our two best adult friends!
My niece, Becca, will be on the cruise with me. She will be 11 in December. She is from NYC. I am trying to help introduce her to some girls before the cruise next week. Maybe I could connect her to your daughter? Thank you!

Looking to see if any other people on the cruise have a daughter 10-11 years old. I am traveling with my niece, Becca, who is from New York City. I would love to try and introduce her to some girls before we leave next week. Thanks in advance!

How is everyone doing on packing? First time cruiser AND mom... so I just feel like it's a bit overwhelming. Lol. So I'm making lists and checking then twice. ;) Mostly just doing laundry at this point.

It's like a Tetris game making everything all fit.
