My first post in Disboard. Just want to introduce ourselves. We are going to the cruise as a family of four. DH (33), me (31 will be 32 during cruise), DD (4) and DS( will be 1 during cruise, 8 months now and his first Disney Cruise )

Welcome Aboard Grace. Are you on facebook? If so, we have a very active facebook group. It's private so I would need to invite you. I am sending you a pm on the DIS here. You should see it at the top of your screen under your user name (notifications). It will have my email address in it. Since we have had to many people 'join' our f/b group who weren't truly going on our cruise so we had to make it private. If you have any problems, post here and I'll get back to you.

For those that are not active on our facebook group, wanted to post a few things for any who might be interested.

We are planning a general 'meet & greet' 3pm on the afternoon we board the ship (probably the Promenade Lounge), that's still TBD. The emergency evacuation drill is normally at 4pm so it's a quick time to stop by and get to meet some of the friends you have made on line.

We a PJ Breakfast planned for the first sea day (which is day two) This is a 'fun time' to go to the fancy dining room in your pjs! A large group of us did this on the Fantasy, arriving in our pj's and slippers (or flip flops), some in just sweats, whatever is comfortable and having a sit down breakfast.

There are group who are planning to meet for morning walks (and or runs) around the deck, to keep some of those pounds at bay.

I have a list of those interested in a private mixology class. If anyone is intersted, please pm me asap as I want to get this list to Disney to try and coordinate it.

Ok, we are past the Paid In Full date so lets hear who is still joining us on this cruise! This thread has been dead (thankfully the facebook group is active) but those not on facebook, if you have any questions, please ask away there is so much info out there for this cruise. Some of those cruising with us have taken this cruise before and have lots of personal info on what to expect.

Looking forward to meeting everyone is less than four months now!!!

I know it's past the final payment date, but we have recently decided that this is the cruise we are going to take. I will book within the next couple of weeks...probably an ocean view GTY. Waiting for a few loose ends to come together. We are currently booked on the 11 day on Princess out of San Francisco, but I have my heart set on Disney, and a true inside passage cruise...the one we're currently booked on isn't quite the route I had envisioned (though very convenient as we live close to San Francisco). It'll be my DD, 7, and myself and likely my mom, too. My 5th cruise, 3rd trip to Alaska and my DD's first ever cruise. Sooooo excited! Already researching how to make a FE.

Should anyone wish to join in the fun and not on facebook, please let me know. What I need is cabin number, disname, who will be traveling with you along with childrens 1st name and age (for age specific gifts) Any type allergies and if any one is celebrating anything. I will be checking in the board more often. Again sorry for not keeping check

We were originally booked on the Fantasy Western Caribbean Dec.7-14,2013.
We had to cancel as my brother, who was battling cancer, rapidly started to decline, and I was caring for him during the day. Unfortunately he passed on Dec. 28.

Instead of re-booking on the Fantasy, we decided now was the time to cruise Alaska! We are so excited!

It sounds like most of the activity is over on the Facebook page. I am not on Facebook, and not a fan of it, but it looks like I might have to join if I want to be in the loop. Is it possible to join FB just to be part of this group and then delete my membership afterward?

Welcome aboard Lori. You can create your f/b account and join our group (just let me know when you do so I can approve you). Then after the cruise you can deactivate or delete the f/b account.

My husband, his parents, my parents and our twin DS 7 and DS 10 will be going. We are all very excited. My twins love whales and dolphins. They never get to see snow, so they are super excited to be going. I plan to walk each morning and would like to be part of the walking group if possible.
