For the last year almost nightly I was always researching via this board for our trip. We went Oct 4th- 12th and had the most magical vacation. Now I am not saying we all didn't have our moments of crankiness during the vacation but it was so special. So been back to work for a week and every other day I tell my husband. If I get a job at Disney HR can we move. He is in IT and his company would let him work remote. He keeps saying no and that I am going through Disney withdrawal.

I keep thinking if I actually lived and worked there some of the magic might not be there. Trying to rationalize but I do miss Disney.

So how long until post vacation blues go away???

What about where you live now? Wouldn't you miss friends/family and your current home?

Just start planning your next trip! It always helps with the post trip blues! That way you know you are going back!

With that said, my wife and I have considered moving to Orlando numerous times. The problem, for us at least, is that we always come back to missing family, grandparents etc. Also, more than once in our discussion, the fact comes up that we love being there so much due to Disney yes, but also the fact that we are on VACATION together. If we lived and worked there, I truly believe the magic would begin to fade, and that special feeling of being on vacation would not exist.

Besides, if you live there, where the heck do you actually go on vacation. :rotfl: I mean, at least we look forward to our yearly trips, and who knows, one day may actually make the move when closer to retirement time when we actually don't have to work while enjoying all the area has to offer.

We went in Sept and we still talk several times a week about trying to move! In the end, the fact that my parents would flip out and we own a business here get in the way. Although, dh was telling the kids the other night that when we got older, we would be living near Disney so they could all take turns coming down with their families to go to Disney. I told him that I would only do half a year....don't want to only see the grandkids when they want to go to Disney. lol I booked our next trip about 2 weeks after we got back. I spend my time planning for that one now.

It makes sense that if you spent that much time planning and had such a great time, that you would have a post-Disney letdown. Take that energy and throw it towards your next travel goal - whether that is Disney or elsewhere.

I live an hour from disney and our vacations are.. To disney! Lol and we make the trip back home to visit family as a vacation also.

My kids are young so it's very hard being here without family, but we do get weekly disney trips to cheer us up!

We are now 3 months post trip (right about now, we would have been enjoying a ride on Splash Mountain...sigh). And I think about going back every day...August 1st, 2014 just won't come fast enough! We've been going for two decades and we look forward to each trip as if we've never been there before. I just want to go back, so I know how you feel!

284 days to go!!!!
