Ok, this is my first trip report so it may get lengthy at times (bear with me lol)

Day 1 (august 31st)

We all woke up at the ungodly hour of four after practically no sleep and headed to philly international. After being able to board first on an almost empty 7:00 am flight on southwest (excellent airline!) we had an uneventful plane ride, dd got her first flight wings and really enjoyed looking out along the coast. We arrived in Orlando twenty minutes early and quickly retrieved our luggage and headed for the mears shuttle. It was a relatively quick journey and we finally got to the POP at about 10 am.

Mom and I got into the check in line while Shannon and John watched cartoons in the kiddy section. Our rooms weren't quite ready so we decided that we were too tired and hot to go to the parks and instead would check out Everything POP and the arcade. We all bought our souvenir mugs and then grabbed some quick meals. After, we went into the shopping area and Shannon made a Disney Mr potato head before her and her daddy went to play some games in the arcade. Mom and I hung out a while longer and then I called to see if our rooms were ready and guess what they were! We had rooms 1304 and 1305 (connecting rooms) in the 50's section (our rooms overlooked the bowling pin pool from afar and the walkway to the main building) Our luggage was waiting in the rooms for us and we unpacked quickly.I had my first and only meltdown when I thought that I lost our return flight confirmations, I yelled at everyone and then after calming down and finding them (I was overly tired and upset from an incident that had taken place at work a few days prior) and then apologizing,we all took a much needed nap.

We all awoke after a lenghty nap at about 5:00 and then headed to the Magic Kingdom an hour or so later. We arrived on Main street and Shannon just gasped at the castle, I actually had tears in my eyes watching my little one's expressions. In traditional first night fashion, we headed to fanstasyland and rode Winnie the Pooh first (with little wait) mom and shannon both loved it so much that we rode it once more before heading back out to our PS at the Crystal Palace. It was a little crowded inside but the character interaction was great and we all loved the food, we were pretty stuffed by the end of the meal and so we headed out to watch Spectromagic. Shannon really enjoyed the parade and then we hightailed it over to ride the Pirates of the Carribbean (with no waiting as usual) Shannon was a little scared of the Dark but she did say that she really liked the pirates song (lol) John loves this ride so him and I went once more while Shannon and Mom grabbed a dole whip and ppl watched for a few minutes. After we hopped on the last ride on the Magic carpets of Aladdin right as Wishes began. It was really nice riding around with Wishes playing. After we exited we headed back towards main street and watched the rest of Wishes before exiting with the crowds!

We got back to the POP at about 10:30 after three busses took off before us!! (I really didn't like the Pop's transportation in comparison to our earlier value resort trips to the All stars, we always seemed to wait to long for a bus) Finally after arriving back at the resort we filled our mugs and headed to our rooms to get ready to go swimming in the hippy dippy pool. Shannon and John headed in first and played around, while Mom and I sipped pina coladas pool side. I finally got in towards the end of the night and swam laps around them LOL. Finally, we headed back to the room and crashed in our beds for the night, after watching that annoying seven thousand top things to do at WDW. OH god I hated that chick by the end of the trip LOL...

Stay tuned for day two when we tackle some more of the MK and head to Epcot

we always land in philly or pittsburg from our first leg of our trip from maine........nice airport.........thanks so much for your report.........JFYI....did you know that it is cheaper in the long run to hire the Florida tour limo to take you to your hotel...we have now on several occasions.......they meet you at the bottom of the escalator and take your luggage and if you request a store stop too....unless of course it is included in your pkg.mears.....my kind of treatment....thanks again for your report

I loved reading your report! Thank you for taking the time to write it. One question: What does DFH mean?
Thanks,
