Okay, so my best friend & I have been planning to take a trip to Disney for awhile now. When I found out that free dining was being offered again, I figured it'd be a good time to go.

Now my question is - Do you think we're crazy for taking our young children with us? My son will be 1 year old (4 days after we return home) and her daughter will be 2.5 years old.

Children love disney! I would take mine. I am going in September with 2 ten year old boys, 2 seven year old boys, 1 four year old girl and a 4 month old baby!

You're so right. Children definately DO love Disney!
I'm just worried that my son would still be too young to interact with the characters, etc. But, maybe not?

Crazy? Definitely not. My youngest child is 18 mos and he's been to WDW three times. Just be prepared to go at their pace and enjoy seeing everything through their eyes. Also, don't be surprised if they are afraid of the characters. That fear often kicks in after 12 mos (or it did for my kids). Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CRAZY?!?!?! NO WAY!! You are going to have a wonderful time!

A few years ago my sister and I planned a family reunion type trip for our 2 families because we live half-way across the country from each other and we wanted our kids to spend some time at "The HAppiest Place on Earth" together. At the time, Mine were 2 1/2 and 9 months and hers were 4 and 2 ... the only time I had a moment of panic was when I called to book our trip and the CM asked who we be coming. I said 4 adults and 4 children ... she then asked the ages of the kids and when I told her she said, "Actually, that's 4 adults, 1 child and 3 infants!":scared1: It sounded worse that way for some reason!

Anyway, we had an AMAZING time and couldn't wait to go back as a group again.

Have a magical time! -Jennie

We are taking our 2 y/o and our 7 month old in a few days. I took my son for the first time when he was 11 months old and he LOVED all of the characters. We were still nursing at the time and the baby center in the Magic Kingdom was great! I say go for it. It's more work with little ones, but you make so many memories.

Thanks for all the replies! I guess I was just worried that Jake would be too young to enjoy the parks. But, we're definately going and we can't wait! :cool1:

We are about to take our youngest dd ( who is 4) on her 3rd trip this summer to WDW. I am so excited! Now she is old enough to understand and fully enjoy the whole experience. But, believe it or not, she does remember things from the other trips. I am not a believer in ,"Don't take them, they are too young and won't remember a thing." So what?! You will! And like my baby, they may too!
Ps. As an Annual pass to Disneyland/WDW, I know you will have more work taking little ones, take snacks and lots of diapers and a change of clothes. Disney is really nice to moms with diaperbags. And don't forget the Baby Care Center in each park! Such a lifesaver!

Thanks! We're just going to take it at a slow pace and take frequent breaks. I'm so excited!
