We will be arriving on May 6th; staying @ boardwalk. Any suggestions as to what to pack or any other pointers for plane, etc.? Itinerary for parks? We are on dining plan...restaurants that are EXTRA baby friendly? My husband and I have been to Disney 2x since we got married...this is our first time with child! My in-laws are traveling with us to help out. My brother and 9 year old nephew are joining us as well. I need pointers! Another issue is I will be just starting to wean my baby girl from nursing! So we will just be starting on whole milk. Any pointers on ANYTHING related to bringing a 11 month old will be much appreciated!! thanks...:cool1:

As for the plane, be sure to bring a bottel, pacifier or sippy cup ( like you would leave home without it..lol). After you are in the air the sucking will help your baby's ears. Inside the park get a map and take note of the baby care stations in the parks. They are great. You can warm bottles. nurse, change diapers and even just take a break and get the baby out of the sun for a while. When we traveled with infants we would take break during the heat of the day and go back to our resort and nap ( well baby napped, I watched some TV ). Don't forget your stroller. I love having my stroller handy because not only can we tote the kids stuff around, but when you buy Disney stuff then you have a place to stash it.

Disposables will be your best friend! Bibs, changing pads, flatware, sippy cups, anything! A lot of folks will ship some of the essentials down ahead of time (food, formula, water bottles, diapers, wipes) if you are flying. We took our own stroller, our own crib sheet for the pack n play. We also took a bottle drying rack, bottle brush, and small container of dish soap. We would pack half a day's worth of diapers and wipes in our park bag and refilled on day breaks.

Make sure to schedule baby some time out of the stroller. After so long, they start to revolt against being locked up! Pull into one of the play areas and take a good long break. Also, if you need to, use attractions like the Riverboat, train, country bear jamboree, etc for 20 minutes of distracted, yet forced relaxation. Nothin' like being entertained while you sit on your rear!

Good luck!

On our last trip, our son was 10 mos old so I understand your concern. I, too, made good use of the baby care stations at all the parks. I took him there 2-3 times a day to nurse and just cool him off and let him crawl around. As far as things to bring...a stroller that provides a lot of shade. Most strollers really don't provide enough shade, particularly for long days at WDW. I would recommend either getting an extension for the brim (sold at Babies R Us) or getting a parasol (umbrella) that attaches to the stroller. If you have a Maclaren, they make their own that fits very nicely. (It's in my pic!) We also bought a battery operated fan that attaches to the stroller. These additions made all the difference in the world.

And if the baby's going to sleep in the Pack N Play, you might want to bring your own crib sheet for it.

In my opinion, nearly all Disney restaurants are baby friendly. It's Disney! :earsboy: We even took the baby to California Grill and did not feel like we shouldn't have.

Have a great time...she's gonna love it!

A MUST! Fan for stroller it made a giant difference with our baby. If you don't want to keep her in a stroller all day but want to have both your hands free, bring a Baby Bjorn or baby sling. For rides our DD did not like the real dark rides or ones with load noises and we watched the fireworks at a distance so that the booms were not as loud.

I also ship my baby supplies to my resort ahead of time, less worry about and with all the airlines charging for bags it works out cheaper. I usually do my diapers wipes babyfood bottles and all our toiletries without worring about bringing travel size. Then when we go home the front desk ships it back for me usually all the stuff is mostly gone and I add our souvenirs to the box! I like the fans from CVS H20 brand I think, they cool much better than the ones available in park and a lot less money, they are styrofoam blades so no injury, batteries last from early morning till about 4-5pm then they die so bring lots if you plan to run it all the time(which I do to keep AnnaBelle cool when we go in August). Have a great time:)
