Disney Wish - Kids Club Slide

I was wondering about the same thing. It can’t be just a simple discreet little hatch in the atrium like we saw in the video.

There will have to be more than one YC there with an iPad/scanner to check the kids in. And there will have to be some space for a queue to form.

In the video there appears to be a podium next to the slide hatch. Assuming that is where a CM will be for signing in and controling access to the slide.

But yeah, line control...

Totally a guess, but I’m wondering if the slide will be closed during times that the Grand Hall area will be busier with more people like before/after dining times and during stage shows. It appears there in a stairwell there and I am just curious if it could be covered/blocked/closed so that you must access the clubs via the elevators directly to deck 2. Having people congregating there to check in while a large number of people are around doesn’t make sense.

I'll have to watch that video again. I don't remember the podium.

And can they really do it with just one slide? Given how popular this will be, seems like a single slide will be an instant huge bottleneck during peak times.

I just love that people complain and jump to find negatives without knowing details. Why are we complaining about a fun new thing? Good grief.

First of all, you can clearly see a podium/desk next to the slide. They know this will be in high demand. They’re not stupid. It’s not going to be a free for all.

I also don’t really see how the slide will take that much longer for checkin than normal. I’m sure multiple CMs will be there for check in at certain points of the day. Many times we stopped at the Oceaneer Club on the Dream, nobody else was checking in.

It’s just an entry for the club. It’s not something you will be able to just do without actually checking into the club to spend time there.

Also, the slide entry will scare some kids. Hesitant older kids will just go the traditional way, plus the smaller kids who go to the nursery won’t be able to go that way. Not every kid is going to want to do the slide. And not everyone leaves their kids at the clubs!

They obviously will have this figured out, people 🤣

Better artist rendering from video released on Disney Parks Blog today. It appears the stairwell is behind the slide area and perhaps that is a single check in desk or a CM in charge of being a slide monitor there. Perhaps the slide doesn’t go into the club itself but right outside? Then you check in your child below? Obviously just guessing here...

EH, I'm guessing that the slide will dump kids out in the secured check in area, but right before the hand washing station. Why would they send a kid down a tube and then say to parents - hurry up and meet them at the bottom? Parents check kid in, kid slides down, kid washes hands and enters the secured zone.
