I switched my reservation that was made on board to the new West Coast cruise. Although Donna said it would be honored and it was advertised that you could switch and still get the discount. The reservationist checked with a higher up and said they cannot honor what was promised. I think Disney has not fullfilled what was advertised and promoted on the ship.

bummed out

I don't think they were at ALL prepared for how popular these cruises look like they are going to be.

I've also never heard of early booking discounts disappearing only a few hours after booking is opened up either - but it's happening! They are already raising prices the first day!

Oh, that is not true! I booked reposition cruise CA-FL this morning through DCL with Debbie and she said the credit will be transferred. The only question remaining is if the 10% discount would apply and she would tell me that when I call Monday to make the deposit. I hope she did not mislead me :(

Was told By Donna on the Magic that it would NOT BE honored...

on the special routes 14 day cruise... We will see....

Did something change , well not change....

I made the ultimate stupid mistake of "not rebooking" onboard to get my 10%, but when I was making the 14 day Eastbound ressie with DCL they said there were no discounts, no group rates for travel agents. I even tried to book the REAS and she said that they weren't offering it for this cruise.

I booked in March onboard and Donna told me (I kept asking for the Repositioning cruise specifically) and she told me YES YOU WILL BE able to use your 10% PLUS $200.00 OBC.
I spoke with my TA and she confirmed that today also after making my reservations.

The thlot pickens :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I just booked the Ca. to Fla. at 5:30 Eastern time with AllSeasons. I booked with Chuck, the owner, he told me that I'd get the 10% off and the 200.00 stateroom credit that was offered to me by DCL when I booked onboard last Jan. and now have asked to change my cruise date to the repo cruise. Mark

Well they better honor it. I am waiting for my TA to get back to me after she transfers my ressie. I was told by DCL on the ship that I would get the discount. Otherwise, I would have held on to my $1000 for a few more months. I would really argue for this.

If they do honor the 10% off and give you the $200 OBC here is what I was wondering...

I have a 3 day cruise booked for March of 2005 (1st Disney cruise). When I am on board would I be able to apply my discount and credit to my 14 day cruise that I just booked today?

my TA said i've still got the 10% & the $200 stateroom credit. now my question is, how do i really know that i have the 10%? it's a price she quoted...which she said included the 10%...but how do i really know? is there a way to find out, without your TA thinking nasty thoughts of you? does anyone know? any help in this is greatly appreciated...just trying to save myself some $$$ :wave2:

If you read Three Circles Post he booked onboard today and received the 10% and $200 FROM Donna so obviously you are permitted that discount on a 14 day reposition.

Grumbo

I rebooked last week onboard, switched today to 7-day West coast. Got the 10% and $200 credit no problem. The DCl TA gave the price w/o the 10% off and what I was being charged (this amount minus the 10% off.) She also told me I got the $200 onboard credit switched to this cruise, I didn't even have to ask. With the prices rising so quickly I'm not sure how you'll know for sure you are getting the discount other than to trust your TA and ask.

Good luck!

When I booked my 7 day west coast cruise I asked if this was with the rebooking discount, and I was assured the price included this. I then asked to price it for friends of ours everything exactly the same and low and behold it was the same. The reservationist then checed for me and said the onboard discount is not coming up in thier system. To this date I cannot get it. Disney advertised this and clearly quoted this when I gave them the deposit on the ship. I think Disney has practiced bait and switch

Allie in Wonderland- You shouldn't be booking a 7 day West Coast cruise, you should be changing the dates that you booked while onboard to a date that happens to be a West Coast cruise. Modifying your ressie's dates would enable you to keep your 10% discount and keep your stateroom credit. If you are still unhappy contact another TA and ask them to take over your ressie from DCL. I used AllSeasons ( www.allseastravel.com ) Call and tell them your problem. If anyone can help you, I'll bet they can...Mark

I never got any notice that I'd have a $200 obc for our last cruise. I was really wondering if it would be there. The 2nd day or so, I got phone message that my $200 was now posted to our account. I was glad to see it, and kinda on pins and needles to see if it was really gonna be there.

Thanks Mark.

WE did modify the dates we booked onboard, but Disney still refuses to honor rebooking discount. They also told me it was in the price. When I checked this out it wasn"t. I really question thier credibility. Thanks for the travel agent idea, because I am getting nowhere with Disney Cruise thanks again.

Hi Allie,
Working with an agent didn't help me avoid this either. You'd think that this is something they would know. You need to modify the dates, not book a different reservation! Even I knew that and had asked the agent to do this when I transferred our onboard reservation in February, when I made an informal request for a West Coast quote via email in Februrary, when I made an official request for a quote on 4/25/04. Now we have two reservations, one for 12/05 that has our discount and one for 5/14 that does not. DCL won't move the discount to the new reservation; the old reservation # should have been used.

I am so very upset right now. Working with a DU agent cost me $1200! If I go with the quote they gave me I lose my 10% and my onboard credit. I also was able to get a lower base price from DCL when the reservations opened. I didn't take it b/c I thought DU knew what they were doing and they had my reservation anyway and DCL couldn't book the new date without it.

So, if I'd stuck with DCL, I would be paying $7578 after the discount and stateroom credit. Instead, I am stuck with DU and a quote of $8763, no discount and no stateroom credit if I want to go on 5/14.

There's a reason I don't work with travel agents and now I have 1200 of them to confirm why.

Please understand that I am very upset right now. I know many people are very happy with their DU agent and the boards are sponsored by DU. But I am not happy with my agent and wished I hadn't put so much faith in DU.

This is really crazy. I booked directly with DCL and it was no problem to transfer the 10% discount AND the $200 OBC for the FL / CA repositioning.

But, Dreams also gave me a quote. That is the one I want to use because it is better pricing and better category and main dining. My Dreams agent said she talked with tons of DCL people and eventually got around to being able to switch. Now, it isn't done yet, but I think it will be done soon.

But, for those that booked directly with DCL switching and keeping the 10% should be easy -- call DCL back and give them the original reservation number.

Good luck to us all. I have to say I felt like I was bidding on ebay when I kept seeing the price go up and up and up and the categories be gone! They should have stabalized the price for at least the first day or so.

I moved an onboard booking directly through DCL and they gave me the 10% discount and moved the onboard credit on the CA to FL cruise.
